The room became pretty quiet after her little, announcement, I shifted awkwardly in my seat. That...I mean, what the hell does she mean by that. I looked at Zayn who had his eyebrows furrowed and looked just as confused as I must look. I slowly turned my head to look over at Ginger who was still fiddling with her fingers. Everyone still kept silent the breeze coming through the window added to my-already there-chills.
"Okay, guys that was good. The point of that was to be able to open up some of the reasons behind our demons" Margaret spoke.
"Now, I want you to turn to the person on your...right! And, explain to them the thoughts that go through your minds when you think about these memories or experiences."
I turned to my right, Ginger, okay I can play it cool. Or I could just come straight out and ask her about
"I didn't kill my parents Ava" She said sighing then rolling her eyes.
"Then...
"A year ago a fire set off in my house, firemen said it was definitely arson. Neighbors said they saw me walking around with gasoline, damn lie, but yea. I didn't get time to mourn my parents death because I was to busy in court."
A tear escaped from her beautiful eyes and I wrapped my arms around her frail body.
"What's happening" Margaret asked as she placed a hand on mine and Gingers back.
"Nothing really" I said.
"Yep. Nothing" Ginger agreed.
~
"Hey, Ava"
"Zayn so help me God leave me alone!" Our group session ended and I just wanted a nap but, nope this a.sshole had to show up.
"I know your p.issed but-"
"No buts, goodbye" I flipped him off for good measure and continued walking through the halls. As soon as I got into my dull, lifeless room I sat down at the window watching as the full trees sway in the early April winds. You never truly realize how beautiful nature is when your not stuck in a facility for crazy suicidal teens. I just want to tweet random crap and post pictures of my food on instagram. Not be in here. I regret my decision now more than ever.
I set my head against the window and watched how the birds chased each other around. I watched how the flew away almost mocking me. I lifted my head from the window and banged it back down.
"Why am I so stupid"
"Because you won't talk to me"
I turned to face Zayn who just freely walked into my room, not even knocking.
"I brought you a peach" He said handing me the fruit.
"I'm allergic to peaches" I told him rolling me eyes. "And there's a huge bite mark out of it"
He shrugged and rubbed his hands on his white T-shirt. "I'm a growing boy"
I rolled my eyes and turned my head back to the birds which have now disappeared into the setting sun. Beautiful multicolored rays alighting the sky just as a plane headed over strangely, causing everything to become even more beautiful.
"Go away Zayn"
He sat at the other end of the large windowsill and ran a few fingers through his midnight hair.
"I shouldn't have grabbed or yelled at you like that. Ava, there are things you will understand about me that I'm trying so desperately to make right."
*ZAYN*
Her lips moved over to the left side as she bit her cheek. She turned to face me and I tried keeping my balance on the windowsill so, I wouldn't fall on my f.ucking face.
"You can't always make your wrongs right Zayn"
She's right, I've spent a little over a year trying to make every single thing right. I've tried so hard to prevent the inevitable which only has proven itself well, inevitable. I tried to prevent the death of Christina, obviously that didn't work. I tried to kill Harry before he sent them after us that night but, again that didn't work at all.
"I know" I sighed.
"Were on the same boat Malik" Ava spoke as she laid her legs on my lap.
"This boat is bound to go off the Niagara falls."
She laughed. "Yes, it is"
"yes, it is."
----
"Good morning Mikey" I sang sarcastically.
He just spent the past few minutes banging on my damn door trying to wake me up.
"Crap, Zayn how hard is it to wake you up."
I shrugged.
"Go get breakfast then get to your session with Margaret"
I stuck my thumbs at him then we made our way over to the cafeteria.
"Today I'll go with a stale muffin and chunky milk" Grabbing my breakfast I made my way to the usual table where Ava and strawberry-shortcake were already sat.
"G'morning" Ava said and Ginnifer bobbed her head at me.
"Hi" I groaned.
"What the hell is wrong with you"
"Whats wrong with me look where we are I'm bored as f.uck Ava grace. I am bored as f.uck"
She looked down at the stone grey colored table and looked as if someone just ran over her puppy. What did I say now.
"If your bored then why didn't you tell me" What's her face spoke.
"What?"
"I know what we can do if your that bored"
"Ginger, what are you talking about" Ava asked avoiding eye contact.
She laughed. " Just meet me tonight."
"Zayn"
I rolled my eyes not able to respond due to the food in my mouth.
"Zayn!" Ava exclaimed again.
What" I asked speaking through the food in my mouth.
She quickly pointed her fingers behind me, Ginger stood up to use the bathroom. Just in good time too, because Harry is standing on the other side of the window.
