Almost two weeks had passed since the... "incident", and now Max strode into the city alongside Ross. The load the two had been escorting through the woods headed off down a different street in the direction of the Marketplace as they reached a fork in the path. The merchant gave the pair a nod, which Ross kindly returned. After a moment, the two started towards the stables, moving at a slow trot.
A few minutes after they started on their own, he began to hear whistling and he glanced over at Ross. He caught the curly haired brunettes' eyes and Ross paused for a moment, his tune cut short, before continuing where he had left off. Max rolled his eyes as they turned a corner into a slightly more wooded area along the cities north wall.
After a while, the whistling changed to humming and Max sighed. Ross smiled mischievously as they continued. A few minutes before they were to reach the stables, he humming changed to a quiet singing, which quickly grew louder in what seemed to be an unending crescendo. He wasn't even singing words, just random syllables.
Max stopped his horse, fixing his best friend with a glare as the other male continued forward, not realizing Max had stopped. When he finally noticed that Max was no longer riding alongside him, he stopped singing and brought his horse to a halt. Ross turned in his saddle so he was facing Max, the mischievous smile still painted on his face.
"Am I making you mad Max?" He asked innocently and Max shot him a "you-don't-want-to-do-that" look before Ross chuckled and turned back to face forward.
As they rode on and into the stables, a few people shot Max weird looks, and he suddenly felt extremely uneasy. He opened his mouth to question his friend, but Ross beat him to it.
"Remember when we were younger and Shelby would always call you that? Thought it was funny because of how angry you'd get." Ross glanced over at him as they neared their horse's stalls. A moment of silence passed between the two as they stopped.
"Let's not talk about that right now..." Max grunted before he dismounted. A handler came out from Ross's stall, covered in stray pieces of hay. She took the two horse's leads, giving Max a strange and weirdly somewhat fearful look, before she took them away.
Max watched her go before glancing back at Ross. "Hey... Did you notice everyone's been giving me weird looks?" Ross gave him a small nod, but he seemed to be focused on something behind Max. When Max turned to look behind him, he saw three uniformed men walking towards them.
As they got closer Max realized that one held rope and that they all showed no expressions on their faces. When they approached Max stepped forward to greet them.
"What may I do for yo-" Max was abruptly cut off as he was tackled to the ground, hands pushed up behind his back.
"What the hell?!" He heard Ross exclaim as the ropes were tied around Max's wrists. Max struggled against them for a moment, before stopping when he was slammed down into the ground again.
"Untie me this instin-"
"Maximillion Zion, you are under arrest or housing and assisting a sorceress and conspiring against the King and people of Requiea."

Whoop whoop.
New chapter after three weeks.
Sorry for not publishing earlier, I've just been really busy practicing for District band, the play, getting ready to go to Disney with the MB and HC... I promise to upload on time on Sunday :P
Also, just want to say. I don't think Max's real name is Maximillion, I just thought it sounded better than just "Max Zion, you're under arrest". So yeah.... my reasoning for that...
I just realized its Wednesday...
Welp time to go write a rushed chapter for Endless...
