Luciano's P.O.V.
"Oh, good, I caught you before you even got to the front." I sighed, wrapping my arm around hers.
"I have to get home." She grumbled, taking her arm back. "I have lots of stuff to do."
"Like what?" I wondered.
"Umm, I don't know, something along the lines of homework and unpacking, I guess," she sarcastically answered.
"Don't worry, it will still be there for when you get home, this won't take long," I reassured.
"And let my father start unpacking himself? No thank you." She muttered. "Besides, he's probably already here."
"Then I'll talk to him," I replied with a small smile.
"Quit trying to blind me, you idiot." She muttered under her breath, looking away from me.
That quiet comment made my grin grow.
"Rei, I'm glad you were able to make a friend on your first day." An older man chuckled, walking up to my mate and giving her a hug.
She hugged him without hesitation. I'm guessing he's her father
"He's not my friend." My mate frowned.
"So that's your name," I whispered.
"You didn't tell him your name?" her father asked, lifting an eyebrow at her. "I thought raised you to be better than that."
"He made me thirty minutes late to my first class and took my book from me during lunch," she muttered, looking at the ground "And now he wants to take me somewhere to prove something."
"You better not hurt her, because if you do, she will kill you before anyone else can get to you." Rei's father said, completely serious. "Never underestimate a bookworm, the gain their strength and knowledge from reading and carrying all of those books."
"Understood, sir." I nodded, trying my hardest not to smile
"You're just going to let this random person kidnap me?!" Rei gasped.
"I'm not kidnapping you!" I mumbled in defense.
"Yeah, sure, whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep at night," she huffed, rolling her gorgeous dark brown eyes.
"Have fun trying to convince her with whatever you are trying to convince her of, she's got a hard head to go along with her stubborn personality." Her father laughed. "It was nice meeting you..."
"I'm Luciano," I said. "It was a pleasure meeting you as well."
"I hate you," Rei muttered as her father walked off.
"That will change soon, trust me," I smirked, taking the book from her hands.
"Easier said than done," she grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. "Can we just get this over with now?"
It was hard to focus while driving, I had to glance at her about every other minute. She's absolutely beautiful with her long black hair, dark eyes that almost seemed black which was hidden under her long eyelashes. She has a slender, curvy figure and red, full lips.
She's absolutely perfect in my eyes.
I put the car into park and got out of the car, getting to Rei's side and opening her door before she could do it herself.
"I can open doors by myself, you know," I muttered, getting out of the door.
"So?" I chuckled, raising an eyebrow at her.
"And why are we at the park?" she asked, placing one of her hands on her jutted out hip.
"Because there's a forest behind it," I answered, taking her hand and starting to walk. "Come on, let's go."
"I can walk without someone holding my hand, I'm a big girl." She remarked, pulling her hand out of mine.
How is she able to go against the mate bond like she does so easily?
"Are you ready?" I asked.
"Yeah, whatever. Let's just get this over with, I have lots of unpacking to do," she mumbled. "And will you give me back my damn book?!"
"It's in the car." I grinned at her sheepishly.
She groaned in annoyance.
I started unbuttoning my shirt and Rei yelped in response, spinning the other direction.
"Is that really necessary?" she asked.
"Yes, it is if I don't want my clothes ripped." I laughed quietly.
"Oh..." she whispered.
Please, don't let this scare her. I took an in a deep breath and let it out before I started shifting.
For each audible bone crack, Rei let out a tiny squeak.
A few minutes later, I was fully shifted. I chose to shift into the complete wolf instead of the half-wolf so I didn't scare her as much, hopefully. The half-wolf will come later when she's more used to me and my wolf.
I slowly padded up to her and nudged her thigh with my nose. Her head whipped down, once she saw me, she tensed up. A high pitched whine bubbled out of my throat.
Do I scare her?
She made slow movements as she kneeled down and held out her hand to me.
"They are real..." she whispered, staring into my eyes. "I guess you weren't lying, huh?"
