     Your family had always been super close to the Holt family. Your summers growing up were filled with barbecues, sleepovers, and carpools to the museum. Your best friends were Matt and Pidge. Matt was always an inspiration to you and Pidge growing up, he would tell you guys about his lessons at the Garrison and help you guys study hard so one day you could all attend together. However, the tragedy of the failed Kerberos mission took place and you and Pidge were both heartbroken. You grieved for a while, but that grief soon morphed into a motivating mix of denial and determination. Your summer nights weren't spent on sleepovers now, it was spent on you and Pidge pulling all nighters looking through any information that may lead you to Matt and Pidge's dad. You both received no leads but the whole ordeal brought you closer as you two aged and you still frequently revisited the information together, hoping to pick up on something you may have missed.

This was about two years ago. You and Pidge joined the Garrison and went through the Voltron experience together. You met the rest of the team and joined their fight against the Galra. After many battles together, you felt like you had a whole family away from earth. But it was missing one person, Matt. So anytime you or Pidge had free time, it was spent on finding anything you could about Matt's disappearance. And when Pidge finally got a trusty lead, you were ecstatic. You helped Pidge over intercom on their investigative trips to planets.

"(Y/N), I'm here! I there's an evacuation happening. If there's an attack I may lose contact with you so we gotta make this as brief as possible." Pidge said over intercom.

"You got it. According to the information we received from that alien Matt's last known location is on a neighboring planet wi-" You were cut off by a loud blast. "Are you okay, Pidge?"

"The planet is under attack! I'll call you if I find anything. I'll try to keep you updated as frequently as possible, I don't know how much longer I'll still-" Static sounded over your headset.

"Pidge! Pidge, come in." You sighed. "They can take care of themselves. I'll have to wait until they get back. Maybe we'll have new information this time."

You fooled around the castle until you heard a ship landing outside signaling Pidge's return. You jogged outside to find everyone crowded around Pidge. "Hey! How'd it go?" You shouted over to a Pidge as you approached the group. Your eyes immediately made contact with Pidge's, however you saw something beside them that made you take another look. You saw a tall guy with handsome features and wearing some type of armor- like clothes. He looked scarily like Matt.
The whole time he looked at you wide eyed, eyeing you from head to toe with a look of astonishment on his face. "(Y/N)." He spoke.
You knew that voice. It was the voice you grew up to. The one that would explain complicated problems on homework. The one that would scream songs in the car at the top of their lungs with you to annoy Pidge and Mr. Holt.

"Matt." You let out a shaky breath. "HOLY SHIT!Matt! It's really you!" Tears rolled down both your cheeks as you charged at him with a hug. He took the loving impact and you both collapsed to your knees as you held and cradled each other for the first time in for what seemed like decades. "I can't believe we found you."

"I can't believe you and Pidge have made it this far into space! For a long time I totally thought there was no hope of seeing you guys again." His eyes saddened at his last statement. You gripped his shoulders.

"We're together now." You pulled away. "Now lets make up for lost time." Pidge jumped over and slung their arms over both of your shoulders.

"We'll take you on a tour of the castle! There's a bunch of super cool tech I need to show you!"
You and Pidge then talked Matt's ear off throughout the long and thorough tour of the castle. The three of you made your way around the vast castle and took turns showing Matt your favorite spots in the castle. You would occasionally loop your arm in his to drag him along if the upcoming room was one of your favorites. Matt would always laugh as you bolted down the hall with him in tow, rushing to show him around the castle.

As the tour concluded, the sun started to set and you guys ate dinner together and started to get ready for bed. "Hey Pidge? I was thinking, where am I supposed to sleep?" Matt asked after dinner.

"Oh, we have a ton of extra rooms throughout the castle." Pidge started. "Or.... We could have a sleepover like old times!"

"Yeah! That would be so much fun." You cheered. "Which room would we sleep in, though? I mean, no offense, Pidge- but your room is a huge mess." Pidge sighed and nodded.

"You're absolutely right, (Y/N). Well use your room then." Pidge smiled. "Your room is always decent."
You were about to oppose when Matt stepped in.

"All right! I want to see your room, (Y/N)! I think it's the only room you two excluded from my tour earlier." Matt joked. Me smiled at you widely.
Damn. If you had one weakness it would have to be that dorky smile.

"Okay then. Let's get something for you two to sleep on and then we can sleep in my room tonight." You said as you got up from the couch.

"This is going to be so much fun! I'm so happy to be back with you two!" Matt bolted up from his seat and slung an arm around you two as you guys started down the hall.

Later that night, after video games, movies, and sharing photos from adventures and missions you three laid down to sleep at least a little before the sun came up. If I wasn't up already that is.
Pidge started breathing slow almost the second their head touched the pillow. It was you and Matt left just laying in the darkness of your room.

"Hey, are you awake?" Matt asked you.

"Yeah. I am." You replied. Matt sat up on his sleeping mat and looked at you through the darkness. You sat up as well to meet him at almost eye level.

"Can I just say that it's really good to see you again." Matt started. "I've thought about you and Pidge almost every day I was stuck at that base. I missed you guys so much. The thing that got me through most of my days was the memories of the summer nights we would spend together when we were young. Man, those were the best! I just wanted to say how much I missed you all this time." He hesitated. "I need you to know that you mean so much to me."

You were touched by his words. "Matt, you know I've missed you just as much, if not more. Pidge and I always found motivation in your memory and we vowed from the moment that you went missing that we would never stop looking until we found you. You and Pidge mean the world to me too. I'm glad you're here with us now." You could feel Matts smile through the dark room.

"I'm glad I'm back too. We should probably get some sleep, though." Matt chuckled.

"Yeah. Goodnight, Matt." You chimed over to him.

"Good night, (Y/N). " Matt replied.
It was a few long minuets of silence before you heard him say something else.
"I love you."

You smiled into your pillow and muttered a small. "I love you too." In return.
