Chapter 12

Mike's POV

The funeral has been over for hours, the guys and I got our information from Mr Clark. We understood that humans can't exactly go to the upside down, but something like a flea could.

We were all at my house in the basement as usual, I got a sick day today and yesterday from school and so did the guys, we sat on the chairs around the table. Checking if we had everything we needed to find the upside down.

Of course Dustin brought food and snacks for 'stamina'. Dustin made a clear point that we needed food, and that we didn't need weapons because we had El. I'd roll my eyes hearing this over and over again. Lucas got his slingshot and back pack ready.

I had my bag done, we left the house from the back basement door. Closing it tight so the wind wouldn't blow it away. I got on my bike following our compasses to the gate. We slew down once we reached the forest and couldn't go too far on our bikes, we got off walking two and two because we couldn't fit four of us across the tracks.

I talked with El for awhile having nothing to do, the guys were ahead of us and still don't completely agree with El being in our group. We came into contact with a stunned Dustin huffing and puffing, Lucas was standing still ahead of us, probably looking down at his compass.

"What's wrong with you Dustin. Lucas is up there." I said, he caught his breath pointing to Lucas and the train tracks. I shook my head continuing to talk to Eleven. Dustin grabbed my by the arm, forcing me to drop my bike and rush over to Lucas.

Dustin shook me before pointing to the right side of the tracks, seeing a limp looking lump on the ground covered in grass and rocks. I grabbed a stick following the boys walking slowly to the giant lump.

"Mike, what if it's-"

"Don't finish that sentence." I said, we had enough already with Will being dead, we didn't need her to be dead as well. I lifted the leaves and blanket off the body, we all jumped back screaming seeing her body limp and cold.

"No." Eleven said walking closer to her body, we tried keeping her away from her, but Eleven wouldn't even stop to consider. She kneeled down beside her body, crying I think.

"Should we hit and run?" Dustin said, Lucas nodded going after his bike, I called Lucas back saying we'll leave the body there, we know they're alive. Will's mom knows they're alive and so does Hopper.

"Eleven we need to find the portal, let's go." She looked at us, not wanting to leave. Lucas said she was acting weird, but I thought it was normal, seeing Y/N's body dead  beside the train tracks.

We finally got El to part from Y/N, we continued with our bikes to the junk yard. We realized we went in a circle. Lucas stared back into my direction, I asked him what was wrong, he pointed to El and started yelling at her, accusing her of changing our compasses.

"I know it was her, she's been acting weird ever since we left. She knows she did it, she won't admit it." Lucas said yelling in her face, I pushed Lucas away from her, yelling back at him.

"She wouldn't do that, she's helping us find Will and Y/N. Right El" I said relying on her to answer.

"Your so full of yourself, your only on her side because a girl isn't grossed out by you. You like her, admit " I felt myself tense up after what he said, I attacked Lucas falling to the ground, fighting with him. I felt myself being pushed away from him. Lucas was thrown away into a cement block.

"Lucas!" Dustin and I said, El got mad and admitted she changed our compasses and threw Lucas. I got up yelling at her, it looked like she wanted to fight back but she didn't she stayed still and quiet.

I turned back to Lucas with Dustin seeing him wake up slowly shooing us away from him. He yelled back at me, I yelled to him, chasing him down. Before Dustin stopped me saying to let him go, I turned around to see El missing.
Dustin and I searched for awhile for her, we eventually stopped seeing as she left, we needed to tell someone about Y/N's body. But who.
