CHAPTER FIVE - Michael Everlove

Hampton Fire begins to narrate the story of the life of Michael Everlove. "When Michael was alive, he was a handsome man, He married a woman by the name Hillary Ross, they came to this town as Mr. and Mrs. Everlove. They were so happy...for 3 years, They were a very important couple in this town , Hillary would bake cakes for the children at the church and they all loved her, But Hillary couldn't bare a child even after the three years of marriage. And this made Michael very angry, because of his frustration of not having to be a father, he started maltreating hillary. He'd beat her every time he returned from his work in the woods. He would complain to her about how he feels ashamed and embarrassed concerning the fact that they didn't have any children even if it was just a child , He worked a lot in the woods and sold fine woods in the Woodstock market because he needed a source of income in the town.

One unfaithful night, Michael came back dropped his axe near the staircase. Walked into the kitchen to wash his hands,and checked the pots for food but they were all empty. It was 8pm that day and it had been a stressful long day at the wood market,that pissed him off . He walked up the stairs with a fast pace yelling her name "Hillary! Hillary!!" He finally got to their bedroom and saw Hillary waiting for him on their bed, she was ready to make love with him. She replied him saying" Oh darling, come to bed let's make love ,I promise I'll give you a massage when we are done" But Michael was even more pissed at this action, he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her out of the room "You worthless witch,I shouldn't have married you in the first place" he said while he slapped her several times and pushed her from the staircase.

Amber interrupted " That's just very wrong , she was even ready to make love to the animal she considered a husband but anyways please continue"

Hampton chuckled and continued," Hillary hit her head on the ground, her head was punctured by Michael's axe. She died instantly, With great shock on his face ,he yelled with tears pouring down his face,"Hillary!!! Oh no , God what have I done ," he rushed down the stairs and held her in his arms . The neighbors barged in , No one wanted to believe it was a mistake. One of the elders of the town as of that time Mrs Bluegrass told the town police and the people to sentence him to death that she knew a great way to punish him ,he was accused for murder and domestic violence As his best friend,I was shocked by the situation, Micheal was begging me and explaining to me how it all went wrong ,I tired to help him explain to the people but it only made things worse . The next morning they decided to put him on trial and I was one of the jury, the town decided that he would be sealed in the attic, so he would die a painful death, through suffocation. And a curse would be put on his soul ,so that he wouldn't cross into the afterlife.

He died after 24 hours without oxygen. A year later, the town decided to open the doors of the house to new family members. Years and years after, the first family that lived in the house were mysteriously killed and no one knew what was the cause of their deaths.

Until the fifth family, which their father was interested in my line of work, he kept telling me how Michael, the ghost visited them and told them to leave his house, But he came to me too late, they died with their heads punctured the same way his wife died. I told the town about it but for the next 5 families that came before you people, they began to call me Mr. Crazy."

Amber got up and yelled at Hampton, :"You have lived here for more than 40 years now, I believe you know how to stop this ghost. So I can go back to Brooklyn, I dont want my head punctured the same way as Hillary. Thanks but no thanks"

"What's your say about this Gabriel" Hampton asked.

Gabriel replied him angrily, :"Amber, the townsfolks were right, this guy is just ranting about mumbo jumbo made up stories. The only thing I could believe is how The Everloves died. If you will excuse me, Hampton, do you have a guest room?".

Hampton chuckled,:"Hahaha, well I do, guess I'll be going to my own room, please turn off the light before you go to bed".

Amber became even more angry at her father, " So you are saying you don't believe him ? After all he just said ? I don't want an axe to the back of my head didn't you hear me the first time? I'm too young to die. You'd better come up with some plan before we both get killed cause if I die before you I will surely come back to hunt you " she gave a fake smile and walked into the guest room to prepare for tomorrow's journey back home.

" You see what you've caused , filling my little girl's head with your crappy stories" Gabriel accused as he pointed at Hampton.

He sighed and then replied "I'm getting too old for all this drama"

" Then just die already and stop wasting people's time " Gabriel yelled as he walked into the guest room.
