The Cursed Phantom

CHAPTER 8 - Mission Failed

It's been three days since the family had planned their mission to defeat the Cursed Phantom, they finally decided to kick it off.
"So you know the plan, I'll destroy one of Michael Everlove's paintings, that'll surely tick him off" Gabriel said
"Hahaha, yeah it will, and I'll run towards you and pass the axe through you after chanting the.... Magic spell thing... and it will activate it's ectoplasm and destroy the Phantom" Amber shrugged.
"Be careful now Amber, you must NOT mistime your run and chant, it could be the opposite act" Hampton warned.
"Amber honey, just do your best, okay? And be careful." Barbara smiled encouraging amber.
"See..That's how it's supposed to be. You encourage" she gave her dad a mean smile.

Soon, they headed into the attic, Gabriel went towards Michael’s favorite painting, took it and smashed it on the ground, suddenly the house began to shake ," THAT'S IT! YOU'VE ALL ANNOYED ME FOR THE LAST TIME " yelled Michael in his deep angry voice... Gabriel ran towards the Attic's door and Amber runs into the Attic, As she began to chant the spell, she was almost close to completing it, then Michael controlled one of his paintings and sent it flying towards Amber, she slams to the ground which sent the axe flying. The spell was not completed, the axe wasn't covered with ectoplasm, it fell on the stairs.
"AMBER!!" Gabriel called and rushed down.
"Dad!" Davis called about to follow when the door shut, Gabriel picked the axe and ran to amber holding her up "Amber are you alright?"
She nodded "we failed dad. Am sorry" she said, her hair scattered a little.
"It's okay baby. I've got the axe" he smiled and then they heard a groan, they looked straight and there stood Michael Everlove, finally they saw how he really looked like, he had blood on him and was pale, he looked like one of the zombies in Michael Jackson's triller video. Amber couldnt say anything, her jaw dropped as she saw him. "Michael" his name escapes her mouth, she swallowed hard once she saw him as fear gribbed her. "Oh...my...God" Gabriel jaw dropped too as Michael scared the shit out of him.
"Stay away" Gabriel stood up raising the axe a little scared, Michael was still coming forward.
"Dad!!!" Amber called standing up.
"STAY AWAY" Gabriel shouted and then he was moved by a wind hitting his head on the wall. "Dad!!!!" Amber shouted and then Michael faced her, she paused sweating and breathing hard. She rushed up the stairs and felt a hand hold her leg. "DAVIS!!!!!! MOM!!!!!" She called crying and it pulled her back, she flew back and landed on the floor, her hair covered her face. She groaned and tried standing up, she rose her head and the first thing she saw was Michael. She gasped and moved back scarred "no no no no" she cried. He was walking towards her "I warned you to leave!!!!!" He yelled, Amber was scared out of her mind and then a stake was dived into Michael. He stopped and then turned to Gabriel who had blood on his forehead, he grabbed him by the neck and rose him up. He began choking and tried freeing himself, then the door opened and Davis came in with Hampton and Barbara. 
"No!!! Gabriel!!!" She yelled about to run to him when Hampton held her back "Hold on! You'll kill yourself" he shouted at her.
"Dad!!" Davis called and ran to him, almost approaching them, he tumbled back severally hitting himself on a glass and falling. Barbara gasped and looked at Davis then back at Michael, he tilted his head and stared at her while Gabriel choked and she flew to the wall hanging there as she felt her arm get stabbed, she screamed as blood poured from her hand.
"Mom!!!" Amber shouted and ran to her trying to free her but she didn't get the chance as she went back to where she was. Michael stood in the middle holding Gabriel , it was like everyone stayed drawing a circle around michael.
He stared back at Gabriel tightening his throat as Gabriel couldn't breathe. His face was turning red.
"Gabriel!!!!!" Barbara shouted crying.
"Michael!!!" Hampton shouted calling, he didn't answer and just squeezed Gabriel's neck "I warned you!" He spoke in his deep voice and dived his hand straight into Gabriel's chest , his hand coming out from Gabriel's back. Gabriel let out a gasp as he felt his heart stopped, Davis woke and looked at his dad only to see a hand dived out of his dad's back.
"Dad!!!!!!!!!!!" He screamed. Amber looked and saw her dad get killed.her eyes widen as she saw this, everything went silent , mute, in her head.
"Dad!!!" She cried and then Michael left him and he fell with another gasp,  Amber crawled to him crying, the same time as Davis,she put him on her lap.
"Dad! Dad pleaseeee" she cried.
"Gabriel!!!!!" Barbara called and cried struggling to get free.
"Dad. Dad please open your eyes" Davis begged shaking Gabriel's body but all they could feel was this wetness. Gabriel's blood. Amber looked at Davis tears in her eyes and back at Amber. "no"

The   Cursed Phantom grabbed Hampton Fire and said, " you naughty old fool, you think you could stop me, after all you sent me to die in the attic, you didn't give me the job I wanted even though you knew how much I needed it and now what are you, a selfish old fool who's only trying to ruin my life again, all because I had a beautiful wife and you didn't. "
"M...michael, I'm sorry, I..I didn't know she would die if you actually got angry at her for not having a job either. I didn't know the axe would be the cause of her death, I put it there because... I thought you would trip and fall as a little harm..less prank". Hampton spoke, Amber rose her head and looked at Hampton shocked with tears in her eyes as she realised there was more to the story.
"A harmless joke?????? HILLARY DIED!!!" He throw Hampton out of the house through the sealed attic Window, Hampton fell towards the ground, he broke his back and couldn't move, he became paralyzed... Barbara was still on the wall crying bitterly" you killed my husband...Why? ". Amber cried silently.
Michael walked towards Barbara "I warned you!!" He said in a loud whisper while Barbara had tears rushing down her face like a water fall. Davis couldn't say anything but watch the blood with anger.
"Am gonna kill you. I promise" Davis said, Michael rushed to him and Davis instantly sprayed holywater on him, he'd been hiding it in him. Michael screamed in a loud voice and moved back while Barbara fell from the wall grunting. "GO!!!" Davis yelled, Amber stood "but dad..."
"JUST GO!" he ordered and she ran,  grabbed her mother up. "Come on" she led her out of the attic, Amber looked back down "DAVIS!!!" she called out to see he was dragging their father's body out. Michael looked at him angrily as if he was gonna kill him next and crawled towards him, Davis sprayed the holy water at him again as Amber helped him get Gabriel's body out of the attic , they dropped him by the side and shut the door. Michael tried pushing it open while Davis and Amber pushed the door back. "Get the water" Davis shouted telling Barbara. She rushed to the table and grabbed one of the bottles, Davis took it and poured inside the door at Michael and then Infront of the door keeping a cross standing infront of the door. They left the door and Michael tried coming out but couldn't and went back down. They all gave a sigh of relief and soon started crying over Gabriel's death. Barbara was crying her eyes out, Davis and Amber gave her a group hug, all crying together.
The Cursed Phantom was locked in for a while as they kept filling the front door with holy water , he didn't return for a while.... While they prepared for Gabriel's funeral.
