••They all stood there staring at each other,as Hampton held the gun towards Amber's direction...James stares at his father, still in shock that he is standing on his own two feet••
"Dad..." James spoke out slowly
"Lemme guess, you're going to ask me if all they said is true?" Hampton asks
"No,that's not it...I just couldn't believe it when they said it...But seeing you standing,I wouldn't call it a miracle. My question is, Why did you do all these things and lie about it ?" James said as tears rolled down his cheeks.
Hampton put his right palm on his face and pulls it down then shook his head and unlocked the safety of the gun.
"Enough said...Time to die Monroes"
He shot at Amber, but she was able to move away only to get a scratch on her left shoulder. The bullet hit the knob of the Attic door. Hampton stopped and looked at the door as it opened slowly, the sound of a calm wind gushed out of the door slowly. The door made a creaking sound.
"He's gonna get it now" Amber said giving a smirk
"You stupid girl...I'm not gonna miss this time" Hampton yelled as he shot three bullets at Amber. Just then, everything slowed down, they could see the bullets as they moved towards Amber. Hampton was the only one unable to move but could see that things had slowed down, smoke came out from the floor and soon it emerged into the form of a human, then formed into Michael Everlove.
"It's been awhile Hampton" Micheal said in a deep voice with echoes backing it up. "Even though I couldn't come out of the Attic,I was able to hear everything the Monroes and Gardens planned for you old friend".
Hampton began to sweat rapidly and his legs began to shake, but still couldn't move from the spot.
"When did you develop the power to control time, this is impossible..." Hampton said
"I am not controlling time actually,I am just manipulating the air in this room. I am a phantom after all."
"What are you going to do to him?"Amber asked
"The right thing dear, what you require as Justice is not to kill Hampton, but for him to take my place in the Attic."
"Doesn't that mean he'll be the Phantom and will be able to kill all of us?" Barbara admitted
"Good question,But that's not what will happen. The witch who cast this spell on me that day said "
"Please, believe me, I did not do what I've been accuser of" Michael cried
The old woman, the witch looked at him. And said to Michael
"If what you say is true, I can't stop what will happen to you now. But if maybe in the future, someone living in this house brings out the true culprit that killed your wife. Then you'll be set free and he will be sealed in the mirror in this attic and fade into the win unlike what will happen to you,you also get to grant the person one wish "
The witch said as she looked at Micheal
"What if that never happens" Michael asked
"That will be up to you Michael"
•PRESENT DAY
"And so she cast the spell on me and here we are today, here we are" Micheal concluded "But even if I do that, it's too late for me now, so he has to die"
Michael grabbed Hampton everything went back to its normal pace. The bullets shot against the wall, the building began to shake, Amber and the others ran towards James who was still in shock dragging him outside the house. Hampton screamed as his gun drops from his hand, Micheal slams him against the ceiling and then the walls.
"Michael, please do not destroy the house" Amber screams
Michael ripped off Hampton's hands off their sockets, deep his fingers into his eyes and pulled out the eyeballs. Held his spinal cord and ripped it out. Hampton's blood gushed out each part of his body, he screams in pain as Michael finally threw his out the house and went towards the door and stopped. He said to Amber.
"Thank you for bringing my wife's murderer to Justice, this was the only way. If I went through the other way,I'm not fit to be a human anymore. It's better Hampton and I die finally, I can grant you one final wish, what do you desire"
"I don't... Know...What...To... Say...The only thing I want more in this world is my father" Amber stammered as she admitted to her desire
A great light as bright as the sun surrounded the entire town and just as the light became dim, Gabriel Monroe appeared Infront of Michael.
"How is this possible?" Gabriel asked
Amber's eyes were filled with tears as she rushed toward her father and hugged him so tight.
"I'm sorry for all I did, I'm so sorry" she cried
"Goodbye Monroes, sorry for everything" Michael said as he faded away
James held his father in his arms and looked at his face.
"Why did you do it Dad, why?" He asked as tears rolled down his cheeks
"Don't be a cry baby, sorry for..." Hampton's last breath ceased at that moment
Amber walked toward James and knelt down near him,
"I'm sorry James, there was no other way" Amber admitted
James stood up ran into the house and picked the gun, pointed it at his jaw and pulled it immediately. His brain was shattered by the force of the bullet. Three people died that day and one person was brought back to the land of the living. The Monroes left the town for three months, later returning after the event had settled down.
It was Amber's High school graduation, and she decided to go to college after summer. Amber's life was finally normal again. But for how long would normal last in the lives of the Monroes.
