CHAPTER SIX - The Visit To The Attic

The next day, The old man gave them a box filled with fishes as gift for their visit to his house and offered to take them back to the town on his cart,which was painted and a black horse was tied to the cart. After a few hours, they finally arrived to the town and he dropped them off by their house. They walked towards their house and knocked on the door, "Who's at the door " Barbara asked.

"Your tired husband and stubborn daughter" Gabriel replied while looking at Amber,She shrugged and looked elsewhere.

Barbara and Davis opened the door and quickly welcomed them home, Davis smiled at Amber, "welcome home scaredy cat." He teased. Amber replied to him, "Well, we're going to find out who's the scaredy cat soon enough"

Gabriel yelled at them ;"Enough, take this box of fishes inside." He handed the box to Davis.

"Well,I'll be off,just remember Amber,if there's anything you need. I'm always at the forest and ready to help" Hampton said as his horse pulled the cart towards the forest's direction.

"I'll keep that in mind Sir Hampton" replied Amber as she waved at him as a sign of goodbye.

"You'll keep that in mind? what sort of help can Mr.Crazy offer you?" Davis questioned while putting his right hand on his jaw and looking downwards.

"I thought dad told you to take that box into the house" Amber rudely replied

"Whatever then " said Davis

That night, Gabriel called for a family meeting, he had decided to tell them what was going on before it would be too late. "So everyone, listen up, Amber and I have discovered that there's actually a disturbed presence in this house and we should be careful not to go to the attic, because the disturbed presence is none other than Michael Everlove!!!" Gabriel said.

"I thought you didn't believe in what Hampton fire said " Amber interrupted arching a brow at him with a little pout

Barbara Gasped" Michael Everlove?, Honey, you know that I have a great belief in ghosts, please tell me you are joking" Barbara said in fright.

"I wish he was mum, but it's the truth, I saw it, it had..." Before she could finish her sentence, they felt a presence. "So you don't want to leave my house?, you think the only place you are restricted from is the attic?... You are restricted from my entire house!!!" He yelled in a ghastly voice.

They all stood up and turned back "Michael Everlove?" Amber jaw dropped a bit

"The cursed phantom" Gabriel said in a low tone

Barbara quickly brought her rosary and pointed the cross towards the ghost, saying "Be gone in the name of the Lord, all those who follow on the devil's path shall return to their master". The ghost grinned, and grabbed Barbara who let out a scream, he took her through the attic door by phasing both himself and herself.

Gabriel yelled, "Nooooooo, Barbara!!!"

Barbara screamed, "Gabriel!!!Help me"

"Mom!!!!" Amber called out almost about to go after her mom when Gabriel held her back.

"Let go off me" she shouted trying to free herself , Davis also rushed from where he was to go after her when a force wind pushed him back making him to his back at the wall with a painful groan as he fell to the ground.

"Davis!" Amber and Gabriel ran to him helping him up.

"Are you okay?" Amber asked putting her hair behind her ear.

"Yeah" he nodded.

Amber looked back at everlove in shock of what was currently happening, not knowing what to do next. the phantom arrived again saying to them, "You are given twenty four hours to leave the premises or your precious wife and mother shall be broken with the mirror". With a flash of great white light he disappeared.

Davis looked at Amber, then looked at Gabriel and said, "What are we going to do Dad? we are going to have to leave the house, for Mum's sake. I don't want mum to die , Please Dad let's just go back to Brooklyn".

Amber said in anger, "NO!, This is our home now!! We are going to find a way to save mum and destroy that phantom, I wanted to go back to Brooklyn as well but I understand now that this ghost , phantom,is just a big meanie ." She frowned angrily "We will find a way to save mum, Because as long as we are alive we won't let mum die, she's my mom and our family. So man up dummy"

Gabriel put his hands on Davis' shoulders and gave a nod "Listen to your sister, son" He took his hands off Davis' shoulders and squeezed his fists , with a frown upon his face. " Davis ,Amber ,it's time we put this demon out of its misery don't you think"

" But how are we going to do that ?" Davis gave a confused look

" We should ask Hampton Fire for help ,he knows everything about Micheal Everlove." Amber suggested.

" We don't need him ,we need someone with spiritual power" Gabriel said

"Who else in this god-damned town would believe what we will say after the way they treated Hampton,by following what they all said? " Amber questioned her father

" Dad I believe Amber has a point here " David agreed

"We still have twenty-three hours and thirty-five mins to find a way to save your mother ,the love of my life" Gabriel replied as he put his right hand on his left chest and crossed his heart

Many thoughts ran through Amber's mind as she looked at the floor and then looked towards the roof and said

"We better not end up like the others"

"Wha...What others?" David asked in a shivering confused tone

"The other families that the phantom killed. You know. The people who lived here before us" Amber replied shrugging knowing it'd make him more scared.

That night they all went to sleep in the main room and decided that Amber and Davis would go into the town and find someone who they think would be able to put up a fight against the phantom.
