taehyung swept the immaculate floor of the art store numbly, smile tugging at his lips as he recalled what happened two nights ago.
his stomach twisted, but the sensation was very well welcomed.
his boss looked at taehyung with a small smirk as the boy let out a soft sigh. "how was your christmas, kiddo?" the man called, crossing his arms.
"was cool. brother cooked, we opened presents and ate a lot. called the parents. some friends stayed over and celebrated with us," taehyung replied, words distant, seeming distracted.
"well," his boss hummed, "how about new year's?" he watched as taehyung jumped before resuming his pointless sweeping. bingo.
"it-it was cool, too! fireworks! a-and the party..." he trailed off, biting his lips. "it was a great night... but! what about you? oh, man! canada, right? how was the cold?" taehyung rushed out, ducking his chin as he put the broom away, trying to hide his blush. flustered, taehyung realised he was probably being to obvious and his boss was teasing him. yoongi was worth the teasing though.
"canada was very cold, but that's exactly why i went, so don't worry. my wife took some breath-taking photos. would you like to see?"
taehyung nodded enthusiastically, almost skipping to his boss as the older man clicked some things here and there on his phone. just as taehyung was handed the phone, the door of the store chimed open. "welcome—," the greeting died in taehyung's throat as he made eye contact with his boyfriend, carrying two coffees and a brown paper bag. "yoongi?" he squeaked, eyes widening as yoongi set the things down on the register.
"taehyung?" yoongi mocked, trying to match the younger's pitch. it wasn't so hard, considering both their voices were deep, and taehyung's even deeper. "namjoon said you have your first break around this time so i decided to swing by and..." he pointed at the coffee, "keep our tradition going. technically you have your second coffee at lunch, but since you were running late this morning, here i am. brought one for your boss, too." taehyung bit his lip and clutched his boss's phone, looking away. "did i... do something wrong?" yoongi asked, wincing internally at how pathetic he sounded. "i didn't mean—."
"you-you didn't... nothing's wrong, i just..." taehyung felt his face redden inevitably and he looked down. "i missed you, that's all." yoongi chuckled and walked the few steps to him, bringing taehyung's face down by placing his hands on his cheeks. taehyung's heart began beating a mile a second, feeling yoongi's warm breath against his face.
"it's okay, i missed you, too. no need to be shy, though." yoongi's lips barely fluttered against the taller's nose, smiling against the cold skin before pulling away. "i need to go now, though. i literally snuck out of work and i'll get my head chewed the fuck off if i don't go back now." he let go of the younger's cheeks in order to wind his arms around his neck and stand on his toes, pressing their lips together. taehyung immediately melted into the kiss, hands falling on leather-clad shoulders lightly. yoongi's kisses were sweet and slow like honey, and so addictive.
yoongi thought taehyung's lips held an entirely different universe and he loved the taste, the feeling, of being the one allowed to experience it.
yoongi heard someone chuckle and froze, followed by taehyung, whose face was bright red.
they had forgotten where they were.
"it's nice and all, to see taehyung happy, but he's still working," taehyung's boss said. "you can come around for lunch, though," he invited teasingly, "as long as my favourite employee isn't the main course."
taehyung turned around and tried to sputter a complaint but he was drowned out by yoongi's deep and strangely melodious laughter. "you heard the man," he crooned against taehyung's cheek, once again standing on his toes. "i'll see you later, babe."
and as he spun on his heel and exited the shop, taehyung took a deep, very needed breath to steady himself.
"well, he seems sweet. he brought me coffee," his boss commented, "so he's welcomed here any time as long as he doesn't eat your face in front of customers."
taehyung tried to make the beet-red stains on his cheeks go away by stuffing a cheesy scone into his mouth.
