what was yoongi doing here on christmas eve? was he so hopeful to see the blonde guy? why would he come here on a holiday? the kid probably had a family and friends to hang out with. but it was the morning of the twenty-fourth, and the coffee shop was closing early, anyway, so he decided to take the chance. he was still worried at the way v had left yesterday.

yoongi wanted to know if his chin was okay.

he himself had a small bump on his head, so that's why he was worried. it wasn't part of his drowning crush on the boy.

not at all.

he downed the last of his hot chocolate, debating on ordering something else, when the cause of his emotional turmoil rushed in, wearing god knows how many layers. he looked... very fucking cute. too cute. he couldn't keep up with the duality of this man; how could he look super rude sometimes but then like such a soft angel other times? he observed the way his lips moved, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he pulled his beanie off and ruffled his hair out of its awkward shape.

yoongi closed his mouth and turned away, aware of his very unswaggy staring. but could he be blamed? the boy was beautiful. he tried listening into the conversation instead.

"another gift card? that's one hundred dollars you've spent on gift cards for this place! who drinks so much coffee that you've bought two?" peter asked, sounding appalled.

v sighed with his sweet, sultry voice. yoongi bit his lip to keep himself from smiling at how gorgeous his voice was. it was a sound he never grew tired of. "i may or may not have ripped the first gift card to pieces."

yoongi frowned. why would he do that?

"with shitty pliers. my hands hurt from the effort, but it hurts more that i wasted fifty bucks on it..."

that was the card he had been destroying yesterday? what had happened to make him do that? he suddenly felt like talking to him more than ever, the sadness in his tone fuelling his courage. he didn't want v to be upset. he looked up toward him just as v was pulling his wallet out. "and can i get a large cafe latte, please?" v turned toward his left where he had seen a person wearing all black and he was surprised to see yugi staring at him already. his lazy gaze fixed on his steadily, the man wearing all black tapped his chin, raising a brow. how's the chin? taehyung figured the stranger was asking. he felt heat rush to his cheeks and looked away.

he heard the man sigh clearly.

he couldn't understand him.

taehyung walked toward a table as far from the guy as possible. when he sat down, the man stood up and went to order at the counter. taehyung looked down at his receipt and sighed at the fifty-five dollars he had spent here today.

this was getting out of hand.

at this point, his entire pay check would be spent in this coffee shop. but he didn't care, even if he was a douchebag, even if he was straight. as long as he got to see him, at least for a few minutes, everything was... okay? he couldn't help but look back at the man, at his nods and the way his head tilted to the side when the cashier said something, and the way his body moved. taehyung was in too deep, he realised, still staring at him as one of the baristas delivered his latte.

he just wished the object of his affection wouldn't drink so much coffee.

he had been so immersed in his not so subtle stalking that when the slow, moody man started making his way toward him, it was too late to look away and pretend he had been spacing out. he thought with an internal wince that still staring at him was probably worse.

the man let out of a gust of air, lips pursing a little, as he set down a small paper bag on the table between them. "my name is yoongi," he drawled lazily, features set. taehyung blinked in surprise, staring at the man standing in front of him. "it's... i got you some cheesy scones. i notice you buy these a lot." yoongi rolled his eyes at the silence with another sigh. "merry christmas." he turned around, walking through the exit.

yoongi.

his name was yoongi.

taehyung scrambled out of his chair, almost tipping his chair over, and pushed the door open, the abrupt sound of the clanking bells making yoongi turn around with a scowl. he dropped it when he saw taehyung, face red, struggling with his wallet. "i got you a gift, too," taehyung explained. yoongi turned to look behind him, feeling his eyes narrow. v got him a gift? he took a stride closer to v, staring at him curiously. taehyung extended the gift card to him, jumping back a little when he realised they were now much closer. "i... you drink a lot of coffee. i thought i'd ease it up your pay check... merry-merry christmas to you, too." yoongi frowned, cheeks threatening to bloom bright red. "m-my name is taehyung by the way! but it's kinda foreign, so you can call me v!"

yoongi shook his head. "sorry, tae, but i can't accept this. it's too much money and i just got you two pieces of bread—."

"please," taehyung pleaded, wiggling the card. "it's the thought that counts. i thought of this for a whole week. take it." yoongi nodded, taking it from the boy and sliding into his pockets. he then took that same hand and tilted taehyung's chin up, examining it. "w-what are you doing?"

yoongi hummed as he let go of the blonde's chin. "i hit you pretty hard yesterday. i was worried it'd bruise." taehyung touched his chin, smiling a little. "tell you what: i'm not comfortable receiving such a big gift when we've never spoken before this, so let's split it—."

"no, i got it for you—."

"let's go on a date with it. twenty five for you, twenty five for me. you get some of your money back, you give me free coffee, i get to spend time with you, and the coffee shop gets richer. everyone wins." taehyung stuttered, looking away and then back at yoongi. he tried saying something but once again the older had taken him aback with his smooth, low tone. "is that a no or a yes?" yoongi asked, furrowing his brows. he was beginning to feel like he had ruined a potential at-least-friendship when the blonde beam of sunshine grinned.

"it's a hell yes."
