Beacon Hills, California

Sommer found herself in Beacon Hills Cemetary at 6:00 in the morning while Derek went to babysit Scott.

She sat on the ground in front of her mom's grave, just staring at it.

Sommer took a deep breath, hands shaking as she spoke to the grave, "Hey mom.. It's been a while.." she mumbled, trying not to cry.

She hasn't been here for two years; the pain of seeing not only her mother's grave, but her baby sister's right next to her.

It was all too much, even after six years.

"I-I miss you... Derek and I miss you so much. We miss Cora, we miss grandma, we miss Aunt Marie- we miss Peter. I miss Cora being up my ass 24/7.. I just miss my family."

She whimpered by the end, blue eyes hazy as she blinked away tears.

"Laura's dead, mom. Someone killed her, and I don't think it was hunters.. Her body didn't smell like it, she smelled like an omega.. I lost her. We lost her..."

Blue eyes watched her curiously from the cremation crypt, sadness in his heart as he watched her cry.

The wind blew lightly, just enough to bring the boy's scent to the brunette.

She moved her head around quickly, eyes settling on Isaac.

She frowned, waving confused.

The boy's cheeks reddened as he'd been caught.

He waved back shyly and watched as she said something to the grave before approaching him, making him nervous.

Her brown hair swayed behind her as her blue eyes dried, "You're being creepy

Her brown hair swayed behind her as her blue eyes dried, "You're being creepy." She teased, brow raised while he mumbled out.

"Uh, s-sorry. I couldn't help but notice you sitting there.."

"What are you doing here so early?"

Isaac shrugged, "Working."

Sommer's eyes widened slightly, staring at the cute boy in wonder. "You work here?"

He nodded, "Y-Yeah.. My dad owns this place."

Flashbacks of hearing his father the night before sent a small rage through her body.

"Cool." She grumbled, the boy noticing her mood change. He frowned as she continued, "Well, I should get back to it.."

"Yeah, me too.. School."

She nodded to him, hand in her back pocket as she walked backwards, "Have fun, kid."

"Th-Thanks.." was all he could stutter before she walked off, taking back her seat on the grass, this time reading the stone next to her mother's.

She just stared at it blankly.

Her eyes were filled with tears she refused to shed again as she swallowed thickly.

"I- Cora..." she mumbled out as she shook her head. "I'm so sorry I couldn't save you, Cor.." was all she could speak out before she stood and dusted off her black jeans, pulling her keys from her jacket silently.

As she sat in the driver's seat of her Impala, she could feel the darkness around her though the sky was bright and the birds chirped.

And for the first time in years, Sommer felt alone.

"It's not happening, Derek." Sommer spat as she slammed her car door.

The older boy's brows were furrowed as he pleasantly stared at his sister. "Please Rae.. Someone needs to do it!"

The brunette scoffed, pushing past him to enter the dilapidated house.

"Then you do it! I don't need any friends, Derek."

Derek smiled sarcastically with a brow raised, egging her on.

"I don't!" She screamed in irritation, groaning. "Fuck off!"

As she cascaded the stairs, she threw her shedded flannel on the bed, kicking off her boots.

Derek had followed behind her, watching her throw her shoes across the room and chuckled.

"It's not that you need friends; it's the fact that we need to get close to this kid, Rae. He doesn't know what's going on, what he is, or anything that's around him. He could expose himself and ruin everything our family's spent generations keeping hidden."

Sommer flopped down on her bed, back hitting the mattress before groaning again. "I just don't see why I'm the one.."

Derek shrugged. "Because you're about their age and obviously pretty. They'll trust you quicker than they'll trust me."

Sommer's blue eyes glared across the room. "So I'm just supposed to use my looks to lure the poor kid in?"

Derek didn't even skip a beat. "Yup."

"I'm not a siren, Derek."

He just walked out, leaving Sommer to huff.

"Great. Just great."
