Kenya watched closely the front door of their house, waiting to hear another ring from the doorbell. She racked her brain out by thinking who might be this visitor, but nothing came out. No, she is not close to her male classmates before and the man could not be her mother's workmate. Could it be the internet technician? But she did not call any technician and the way he dressed, he seems like a normal civilian.
But what is the reason of her paranoia? It could be just a normal person, someone who knows her mother but she just could not remember at all. In spite of the nagging voice of her mother saying 'Never open the door to a stranger', her feet start to walk towards the silent still door wearing an indecisive motion.
She must have become a cynical untrusting person, but where and when did it start?
The time she reached the front door, her eyes become glued to the camera monitor but it shows an empty front door and street outside. She must have been overthinking lately because of the events that took place in her life lately, and adding to it was her continuous unfortunate nightmares that had been happening for the past few days.
"Stop deluding yourself Kenya! Nothing good happens by being cynical and doubtful" She scolded herself while dragging her feet back to the comfortable couch thinking that she must have been imagining about a lot of negative thoughts.
The couch felt nice and comfy. She might have ending up sleeping again if the doorbell did not ring again. The person must have something urgent on his sleeves, to even come twice to an unresponsive house. Should she at least bring a weapon to her?
"Kenya! Stop that kind of thinking as it seems like you are living in a thriller themed story. Stop scaring your self altogether!" Talking to herself she hurry up to open the door. It was already too late, as the door is flaunting widely, when she realized she could talk through the monitor first. Stupid self.
Either way, she just pretended to be firm to her decision as she opens the door just enough to face the person outside.
"You are?" Kenya asked in a confused expression to the man standing in front of her. He stared at her conveying an impression of verifying something on her face, so she spoke again. "You need something?"
The man's expression appear to be lightened when she spoke like he recognizes her. Before she could ask another question again, the man speak up in a cheery tone while smiling luxuriously.
"You still have the look of stress, school might have been burning you up though it just started recently"
The man's expression stiffened but still wearing a smile with an impression of recognition.
The the man's voice sounded familiar in Kenya's ears, like as if she have heard it before. The expression in Kenya's face become more confused as she look closely to the man standing in front of her. He seems to know her, to wear that kind of smile and confidence. She knew deep in her mind, she have seen this man before.
Then a flashback of memories changes her whole expression into a surprised one. She did not expect to see this person ever again.
"Oh, you're the uber guy!" Kenya exclaimed, bewildered on how she would react to the this person's presence.
For the passed days, she waited for this man to show up, hoping that he had her phone and give it back to her even if she have to pay a little for the inconvenience. The man's expression changes a little when she said those words. Does her words offended the man? But she is right, this person was the driver of the car, where she lost her phone. Did she make a mistake? Doesn't this man the driver back then? But the voice and the face look similar to the man back then.
