Two moving vans up to Kaitlyn’s house. One is for and the other is…well, I don’t know. All five of us begin to bring all our belongs into Kaitlyn’s house. Zayn was going to help us but he needs to move all his stuff into Matt’s house. The sun shines bright on us but it’s still freezing. I watch Zayn hop out of the moving van. My eyes widen.
Matthew lives in front of Kaitlyn’s place? Are you kidding me? I’ll never get rid of him. But who would? “Zayn, this is too much!” I laugh loudly. He turns towards me and he smiles in his goofy way. Matthew and Zayn walk over. “You are moving he asks?” Matthew asks in shock. I nod. “My mom and her girlfriend got engaged and she wanted us to move in.” I reply looking over at Mom and Kaitlyn.
“Oh.” Matthew laughs and I quickly punch him in the arm. “Well, I guess we’re neighbors now Little Flower. You’ll be seeing me a lot more now.” Zayn laughs happily. I roll my eyes. “Yeah, like I don’t see you enough.” I tease back. Matthew laughs freely, I can’t help but laugh along. Zayn smiles in defeat.
“Zayn?” Mom and Aaron ask walking towards us. “Hey kiddo and Ms. Heart.” He replies. My mom ruffles up Zayn’s hair. “I told you to call me Diana.” She replies. “What are you doing here?” Aaron asks. “Matthew’s mom and dad are taking me in and I’m moving in with them.” Zayn replies. “We should get back to packing.” I say grabbing a box from our moving van.
We all part our own ways and we finish unpacking. Our moving vans drive away and I walk inside my new home. I don’t know if this will feel like home. Kaitlyn lives in a nice size house. Four-bedroom house, two bathrooms, two-story house, and a basement. Each one of us get our own room. I get the second biggest room in the house.
I begin to unpack my possessions. I hear a knock sound from my door. I turn around to see a charming face of Zayn. “Look what the cat dragged in.” I laugh. He rolls his eyes smiling. “Want to help me?” I ask showing off my belongings. He shrugs and walks into my room. He starts putting my posters up. I start setting up everything. I hear another knock on my door. Zayn and I turn toward it.
My mom holds something mysterious in her hands. “Whatcha got there Mom?” I ask. She hands it to me and she walks out. Zayn holds a confusing look and I shrug. We pull it a part and I scream. Zayn jumps at my sudden burst. “A bird cage swing!” I yell. “Zayn, we have to put this up.” I demand. With a difficult battle Zayn and I secure on bird cage swing on the ceiling.
We finish it up. I start pulling picture frames out. I pull out the photos from the soccer and football games. I have pics of Liam and I, Zayn and I, all of us together, and Aiden eating a burger. “Holy shit is that Aiden eating a burger?” He exclaims taking the picture out of my hand. I laugh. “Yeah, at the football game Liam took me to dinner with the Aiden and Lucas. We went to Burger King and he paid Aiden to eat a burger.” I laugh snatching it back.
Zayn sits in my comfy office chair and I try out my new bird cage. “You know that the play is coming up, right?” Zayn asks. MY heart begins to pump faster out of nervousness. “Yeah, I know.” I gulp nervously. “Viola, you’ll do fine just remember what I told you. Just act like you’re talking to me. I’ll be beside you almost all the through the play.” He says noticing my quick reaction.
I nod feeling a little better like the first time he said it. “Hey Zayn, honey a man is here saying he is your father.” Kaitlyn comes in. “Thank you.” He thanks. Kaitlyn leaves with a slight smile. Zayn sighs standing up. He rolls his eyes. “You don’t like your father?” I ask standing up. He shakes his head no.
I walk to the window. “Why?” I ask. “He left my mom and I when I was five. He was and is a drug addict. Mom has money stored away from over the years for me to go to college and this dead beat wants it for drugs.” He says with a harsh tone. My eyes widen. He isn’t the only one hiding. I sigh looking down. “I should go.” Zayn says.
