After Zayn left I felt my personality change dramatically. I don't come out of my room. I only get food, water, and use the bathroom. I haven't taken a shower in two days. It's gross but I don't want to get up. I know I can't rely on him but it's hard not to. When you spend so much time with one person you easily become attached. That's my problem. I sigh as I crawl out of bed. I think two days are enough. I get undressed and I take a quick shower. I get out of the shower. I slip on Zayn's Northfort jersey and a pair of his navy-blue sweatpants I stole from his house.
I stumble downstairs. Kaitlyn lays eyes on me. "Oh honey, you act like he's dead." She says with a heavy sigh. I grab onto his shirt. The smell clean laundry and peppermint. "I know, he's not dead I just miss the company." I reply. "Bullshit." Mom says walking in the kitchen. I roll my eyes. "It's Christmas, Violet." She adds. I sigh letting my arms fall limp to my sides. "Fine." I sigh.
Aaron walks in the room. "Just admit that you like him." He spits. My eyes widen. "What? I do not like Zayn Peterson!" I snap back. "Again bullshit." Mom coughs trying to cover what she is saying. I roll my eyes. I hear my phone ring. I run upstairs. I jump on my bed grabbing my phone. Max wakes up quickly by my body hitting the bed. ZAYN PILLOWTALK wants to video chat. My heart skips a beat and I answer it.
"Well, hello Little Flower." He says with a goofy smile. I smile widely. "Hey Zayn." I beam. Max walks up my back to see what I'm doing. He begins to lick my forehead. "There's my boy Max." He says in a sing song tone. I laugh slightly. "How is Maryland?" I ask rubbing Max's little soft head. Zayn shrugs on my phone. "It's alright. Not somewhere I would live personally but my sister is nice as ever. She got married and has two kids. A boy and a girl." He says casually.
I raise my eyebrow. "What are their names?" I ask curiously. "Samantha and Tyler." He replies. Max barks jumping down the bed. He wants outside. I sigh rolling out of bed. "Is that my jersey I let you have?" Zayn asks with a cocky smile. I smile rolling my eyes. "What if it is?" I ask switching the camera to my feet. I walk downstairs. "How did you get my sweatpants?" He demands with a playful tone. "Oh, I stole them from your place." I reply as if it's no big deal. I open the front door.
Max darts outside. I watch him use the bathroom. "You miss me that much?" Zayn asks seriously. Max runs inside. I quickly close the door and I dash back upstairs. "Yeah, maybe just a little." I answer seriously. I switch the camera back to my face. When he sees the change, he smiles. "I miss you too Little Flower." Zayn laughs freely. "I can't wait to come home." He adds.
I feel my heart flutters within my chest cavity. "Why?" I ask playing dumb. I never liked playing that card but I just want him to say it. "Don't play dumb with me Violet Valentine." Zayn smirks. I smile back feeling my cheeks heat up. Oh, whatever. "Zayn!" I hear a female holler for him. He rolls his eyes. "I have to go my sister is calling me." He replies with disappointment dripping from his voice. I nod. "Okay, have fun Zayn. Goodbye." I reply. He snaps a look at me. "How about 'see you later' instead of goodbye?" He asks. I smile. "Alright, see you later Zayn." I say hanging up.
I sigh rolling over on my back. Maybe I do like Zayn Peterson. No, way. I sit up throwing my phone on the bed. I stand up and walk downstairs. A knock comes from the door. I walk over opening it. Aurora's glowing face smiles. I user her in feeling the cold. "Merry Christmas Viola!" She screams hugging me. I smile hugging her back. "Merry Christmas to you too." I reply.
Aurora is spending Christmas with us. She has our presents wrapped up. I walk into the kitchen and I hand her a cup hot chocolate. "Wow, you must really miss Zayn." She says raising her eyebrows checking out my outfit. I feel my cheeks flare up again. "Shut up." I mumble. "Let's get the party started." Kaitlyn laughs. We walk into the living room. Kaitlyn's face is flushed red. She had too much eggnog with alcohol. I laugh sitting on the floor.
