------Bryce's POV---------
The Logan girl was my mate, when she entered the room Emily blocked her from my vision so I wasn't able to see her but I felt her presence as clear as day.
But when I saw her, I felt as though the gods themselves had blessed me. She looked a little underweight, which made me worried, but it was her eyes that captivated me. As gray as the clouds that misted the fields outside my window every morning. Familiar, yet mysterious.
Gods how easily I'd forgotten about Emily when I locked eyes with Bennie. It was simple, forgetting that Emily was my girlfriend, I no longer felt ties to her and even though I knew I needed to accept my mate and make our relationship known, I didn't know how.
I had been with Emily since we were in grade school, I thought for the longest time that she would be my mate but the day came when we turned sixteen and nothing was different. I felt great love for her of course, but it paled in comparison to what I felt for Bennie.
"Babe? BABE!" Emily's voice snapped me out of my troubled thoughts.
"Sorry what were you saying?" I replied, composing myself.
"You were staring at that...Bonnie for like ever, is everything alright? Do you...think she's prettier than me?"
She pouted and I sighed, taking her hand in mine and reassuring her.
"Her name is Bennie and of course not, you know I only have eyes for you." I smiled.
She smiled triumphantly as if she had just won the biggest prize in the world.
Soon after she excused herself to our room, and my parents walked in with my youngest brother, Bobby.
Both my mother and father are immortals, granted life by the gods and almost a year had passed since the birth of our newest brother. My mother was torn by the last pregnancy, she and my father had both conceived twins, a boy, and a girl but the gods took my sister's life before she could even start it.
Her memory lived on in my brother, Robert Sam Lican. Samantha was the name my mother chose for our sister, and now no one would ever forget her.
"Hello, my beautiful baby boys. " My mother greeted all of us and I sighed, fighting the urge to roll my eyes. My twin brothers ate all of this attention up, adoring the compliments and loving words laced with honey that my mother often threw at us.
I groaned, being the youngest was difficult until Bobby came along. I was under the impression that she would stop babying my brothers and I when we turned of age to shift, but I was sorely mistaken.
One thing was for certain, my mother loved her children.
"Bryce, my wonderful son one day you will feel a love this great and I will thank the gods." She smiled and placed Bobby down on the floor, and he crawled around for a while before he used his hand to gesture something to our mother.
"Aquaglobus."
She spoke softly and in her hand formed a small spherical ball of water, it floated right above Bobby and she made it spin in a circle. He laughed and everybody followed suit, even into adulthood my mother's powers still amazed me.
Suddenly everyone grew quiet and I followed everyone's gaze towards the doorway where Bennie stood.
I swallowed hard and felt my hands shaking as I placed them at my sides, balling them up into fists as I tried to steady myself.
"Oh, my apologies I was looking for the kitchen," she spoke and looked down towards the floor.
"Nonsense, we were just sitting. Would you like to join us? Miss..." My father offered, gesturing to an empty seat next to mine.
