-----------Bennie/ Solina POV------------
It had officially been six weeks that I'd spent in the kingdom, which meant it had really been about nine months in the other realm. Zeus had warned me about crossing the portal and how hard they would try to make sure I wasn't followed. In the time that I'd been here, I'd trained and learned the language while Silas worked on planning missions against the vampires. I hadn't seen or heard from him since the first raid.
Yasmin helped me into my dress and boots as I prepared to meet with Silas and discuss plans. I hissed as the sleeve brushed the fresh wound on my arm.
"Sorry." Yasmin mumbled and I sighed.
My arm was injured on an attack mission and the flesh was still pretty tender. I found that the magic in this realm was easier to grasp than the magic in the other one and although my powers were strong my injury wasn't healed properly. More than that, it seemed my regenerative powers didn't work as quickly as they had in the other dimension.
We made our way into the study where Yasmin left me, I moved towards the bookcase and pushed the lever entering the hallway and pushing the door until I entered the chapel.
Silas' back was turned to me and he had rid himself of his shirt, making it easy to admire his rippling muscles.
"Are you going to continue to admire my backside, or are you going to join me?" He questioned and I rolled my eyes, walking up the altar steps and stepping beside him.
He turned to face me and looked me over once, his eyes darkening as they rested on my waist, a golden broach resting between my breasts.
"Have you figured out where they are?" I asked.
"There was no need." He replied, not taking his eyes off of me.
"Why is that?" I questioned.
"A messenger, sent this." He held up a piece of parchment. I took it from him and circled the altar, stopping in front of the candle for better lighting.
"These....these are terms of surrender." I spoke.
"They are."
Are you going to meet with them? I asked, turning around quickly only to find that he was right behind me.
"No."
"No?" I whispered.
He sighed. "Those leeches only know how to terrorize and kill. If I let them live they will only do it again."
I shook my head.
"Silas, making peace with them will provide a great alliance. Killing them would only serve to disturb the natural order."
He was silent for a moment before responding.
"What do you propose we do?"
"Sign a treaty, give them the dark lands near the willows and have them swear fealty to you, to the crown."
He pondered this for a moment.
"I'll make the arrangements." He nodded after some time had passed.
I placed a hand on his shoulder and was about to leave when he caught my wrist, pulling me close to him.
"It's not fair to me to watch you walk these halls looking like this."
He trailed his finger over my bare chest leaving a trail of fire along my skin.
"Silas." I gasped before he placed his thumb over my lips and tilted my jaw up to look at him.
"So beautiful." He breathed, running the pad of this thumb over my cheekbone, his eyes never leaving mine.
