----Bennie's POV------

My eyes opened and I squinted as the light touched my pupils, breathing in the scent of my mate I looked down and found that I was wearing a shirt that was three sizes too large. It had to be his.

I surveyed my surroundings and quickly established that I was in my room, and there were a few monitors surrounding me along with an IV drip embedded in my arm. I moved to take the covers off of my legs and stopped short when I heard a voice from the other side of the room.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Ace smiled as he stood and walked over to the end of the bed.

"Ace, what happened? Where's Bryce?" I questioned as I sat up, feeling my stomach protesting at such hasty movement.

"Your wounds healed quickly once Bryce got to you, the pack doctor moved you to your room and put a barrier up in case you decided you wanted to wander. Bryce was here a while ago but my father called him away on pack business." He explained.

"And yes, the IV will come out soon, the doctor should be here shortly." He continued and I remembered something important.

"Ace, where are my parents?"

He opened his mouth to respond when in the next moment a man in a white coat walked in and presented himself.

"Ah good afternoon Ms. Logan, I am Dr. Vikis and I am here to examine you and discharge you if you will, from the confines of this room. Now let us see if we can't get that nasty drip from your arm." He smiled.

The visit with the doctor was swift, he checked my levels, scribbled down some notes and relieved me from the IV, placing a bandage over the penetrated skin.

Once he was finished, the barrier was lifted and I swung my legs over the side of the bed, placing my feet on the floorboards.

"Bennie, do you really think it's best to ask about your parents?" Ace sighed and I looked at him, shocked.

"I need to know what happened, regardless of their misdeeds I still deserve to know where they are."

I replied as I made my way into the bathroom, grabbing a pair of clothes from the dresser on the way in.

When I emerged from the bathroom Ace spoke quickly, blurting out his explanation.

"Your parents are being held in the pack holding cells, they're awaiting trial by Elder's court. The Elders need your testimony to make our case plausible. I'm sorry Bennie, I know you asked me to keep it a secret but you disappeared and everything happened so fast, I hope you can forgive me."

I sighed and sat down next to him on the side of the bed.

"Thank you, Ace for everything you've done for me. I know I haven't been here long and in that time you've learned a lot about me but I can see now that you are a true friend."

I smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder and he returned my smile, offering to show me out of the room.

"If it's alright with you I'll leave you in the family room with mom while I go check on Bryce and my father, so I can get you an update on when he'll be back." Ace volunteered and I nodded, sitting in the large family room just as Luna Danielle walked in.

"Oh, Bennie! It's good to see you, I'm so happy you're feeling well again. Dr. Vikis updated me not long ago, come and sit with me we have much to discuss." She smiled and I turned to thank Ace only to find that he had left.

I spent the rest of the afternoon with Luna Danielle, discussing pack procedures and the abuse I'd endured at my parents' hands.

"I don't want to be a burden to anyone else, so I suppose I should find another pack to join once the trial is finished. I do long to be with Bryce, as he's my mate, but I don't want to inconvenience him with a weak mate like myself."
