-------------Bennie's POV------------
-One year later-
I took a deep breath and walked into the hall of the gods. It had been a year since I'd left the land of the living. The training and my relationships with the Olympians had progressed since my arrival and today was to be the day of my return. It wasn't much to go off of but Zeus felt a disturbance in the realm as if someone had opened a portal and intruded upon their galaxy. This was a similar feeling he'd had just before meeting me.
"Ah, there she is." Zeus spoke as I entered the dining hall.
I bowed before I took my seat at the end of the table.
Zeus lifted his chalice and the celebration began. We feasted on lamb, wine and bread. Fruits and colorful dips were spread out on the table as well.
"And to think, I used to look down upon your kind. How foolish I was, and I trust you'll remember that your friends will always be seated in Olympus." Zeus toasted as Dionysus brought out more wine.
"Well, you've come a long way. It's been an honor to train you. I hope you find your way back safely." Athena spoke as she embraced me.
I nodded and thanked all of them before finally looking over to the corner of the room where Achilles was sitting. We had grown close since my arrival and he hadn't treated me differently despite my progress in power. It was difficult to describe, but his consistency in friendship and respect kept me from pitying myself and belittling myself. He was a good partner.
I extended my hand to him.
"Achilles, I will miss you." I sighed and he nodded before embracing me in a large hug. I smiled despite myself and hugged him back tightly.
"Safe travels." He replied, squeezing my shoulder before backing up. We said our final goodbyes, and I turned back to the gods.
"Goodbye!" I called from the portal's opening, they waved and I stepped into the large portal ready for the challenges ahead.
*****************************************
I landed with a thud and on my back in what seemed like a large field, and when I stood I noticed I was no longer wearing the robes and armor gifted to me from Olympus but the clothes I wore the day I was taken to the gods.
The clothes didn't fit as well, my shirt and jeans clung too tightly on my body and I felt as if I were suffocating. I looked around and realized that these surroundings were familiar, I'd seen them before.
This was Bryce's house. The same buildings, same trees, and almost the same cars, it occurred to me then that I was most likely in the middle of a training ring.
Everything looked the same to me, it was as if I'd never left. I felt my palms growing slick as I walked up to the door and lifted my hand.
I let three raps fall on the wood.
"Yeah, hold on!" I heard a familiar voice calling from inside, that voice always made me smile.
"Bennie..." The door flung open and his eyes widened in shock as he took in my appearance.
"Hello, Ace." I replied, not quite knowing what else to say.
"We all thought you were dead...where have you been?" He questioned.
I looked to the ground.
"I can explain that another time, right now I need to know where my father and mother are." I replied.
