Chapter 36 : Just the two of us

Lee Jung Na's POV

I raised my head from between my knees and looked up to the most beautiful eyes ever known to mankind. The moon light shining upon him made him look like he was glowing.

"Come here." Lee Dong Hae, who was already squatting infront of me so he was on eye level with me said, before gently pulling me towards him into an embrace.

I didn't know for how long I cried. I only know I cried until I was beyond exhausted, until I felt like every drop of water was drained out from my body.

After some time, I felt the warmth leave my body as Lee Dong Hae seperated himself away from me, holding me by my shoulders.

"So, are you ready to talk to me now?" Lee Dong Hae asked gently.

I nodded my head in response while he sat up beside me on the bench.

There was silence between us. Not an awkward one, but a comfortable, comforting one. I knew I had to tell Lee Dong Hae what happened, but I didn't know how to start.

"How did you know I was here?" I asked softly, not raising my head.

"Siwon told me."

Siwon, Siwon oppa. Just by hearing his name made tears well up in my eyes again.

"I've let him down." I said, trying to hold back my tears.

"Do you love him?" Lee Dong Hae asked.

"That is the reason why I am sad. I thought I could love him, I thought I could give him all that love that I felt from him, but I couldn't. I tried but I couldn't. He was so nice to me, he was so gentle and I felt his love more than I have ever felt from anyone. Do you know how heartbroken I was when he told me he love me just now? I don't deserve his love at all. He even chose to hurt himself and let me go because he wanted me to be happy. Why? Why must such a perfect guy like him get hurt? Why didn't I love him back? Why couldn't I love him back? Or rather, why did he love someone like me?" I said, ending the last sentence with a whisper.

Tears were falling uncontrollably out of my eyes again and I felt the heartbreak all over again.

"Hey, it's not your fault you know? Feelings can't be forced." He said gently and help my head up by putting his hands on both of my cheeks and wiped my tears away gently.

That was when I saw it.

"Yah Lee Dong Hae! Why do you have a cut on your cheek?!" I asked but he turned away.

"Yah, look at me!" I commanded as I put my hand on his cheek to turn his head and face me.

"OMO." I gasped when I saw his face.

Other than the cut on his cheek, the corner of his lips were bleeding and his other cheek was bruised.

I was so busy crying just now and my vision was so blurry, I didn't even notice all this.

"What happened?" I asked gently as I felt my heart wrench in pain.

"It's nothing, I knocked myself onto something." He said.

"HA HA VERY FUNNY," I mocked, "as if I'll believe that. Sooner or later, you'll have to tell me. Come, let's get you treated." I stood up from the bench and held on to his hand. I was still sad, but right now, this injured man right here is more important than my feels.

I couldn't keep my heart from beating faster as I felt the warmth of his hand on mine. He was holding my hand so tightly, but it felt unreasonably comfortable.

"Finally, a 24 hour mart!" I squealed in delight. "Wait for me here okay?" I sat him down on a bench nearby as I let go of his hand.

I picked up some band aid, cotton balls, saline solution and iodine from the first aid counter before picking up two cups of hot chocolate and checking them out at the counter.

"Here here, keep yourself warm with this first!" I said as I stuffed the cup of hot chocolate into his hands.

I soaked the cotton balls with the saline solution first before facing Lee Dong Hae.

"Alright, this might hurt a little, okay? Bear with it." I said as I dapped the cotton ball gently on the wounds. Lee Dong Hae winced a little but he tried to hide his discomfort.

Next, I soaked a new set of cotton balls with iodine and warned him.

"Now this is the real deal. This is definitely going to sting real bad." I warned before proceeding to dap it on.

The moment the cotton ball got in contact with his skin, Lee Dong Hae's face scrunched up and he groaned in pain.

I got closer to his face and started blowing gently on the wound without realising how close we were.

Suddenly, Lee Dong Hae grabbed my hands and looked straight into my eyes.

"Jung Na ah, let's leave. Let's go for a short vacation some where. Just the two of us." Lee Dong Hae said and before I could even reply, I felt warmth on my lips as he gently placed his on mine.

Needless to say, I dropped all the cotton balls on the floor.
