Xander's p.o.v.
I woke up the next morning with Starlet snuggled into my side. I breathed deeply as the events from just two weeks ago once again flooded through my mind. The last two weeks had gone by relatively slow, with no traces of Max anywhere.
"Alex," I heard Starlet mumble in her sleep, causing me to smile slightly. I kissed her forehead before getting up quietly. I went to brush my teeth, my eyes still on Starlet. There was no way I was leaving her unprotected for even a second.
Once I had finished, I went to wake her. At the slightest touch, she sprang up, on full alert. Then she rubbed her eyes sleepily before dragging herself out of bed and going into the restroom.
We started our day as usual. Three patrols with five warriors on each one were sent out to check the borders, and Starlet went into the backyard and sat with Wesley, Noelani, Trevor, Lilah and Jasper while I went to talk to my mother and father.
After they told me that nothing had changed, I went back upstairs to see Starlet putting on running shoes. Wesley was standing in the corner, playing away on his phone. When I walked in, he told Starlet to meet him at the car, and he left. Where were they going?
"Where're you going?" I asked.
"Special training. Wes said I should do something to distract my mind," She replied quietly, standing and putting on her Avengers backpack.
"Where exactly is this 'training' going to take place?" I asked, the thought of her just leaving for 'special training' not sitting right with me.
"A camp just few miles from here. Don't worry, Alex, it's still in the territory," Starlet said, a slight giggle escaping. I couldn't help but smile at her adorableness.
"I'm coming too," I said finally.

When we reached the 'training camp,' I realized that it was what looked like a base. There was huge black building with two door on the left side. The building stretched further than I could see before it curved and came back. Not all the way, but stopping about a mile short before shooting in another direction.
"Who's going first?" Leilah asked, walking over to a control system sitting a little ways away from the building. Trevor and Starlet both went and stood in front of the doors. Starlet pulled her hair up into a high ponytail, and Trevor gave her a playful, yet competitive glance.
"Easy, normal, hard, extreme, or you're insane?" Leilah called to the two of them.
"You're insane," they both said at the same time. Leilah punched in something and a gigantic TV monitor gleamed on the side of the building, showing cameras from every angle of the building. When I looked at the contents inside the black building, it was as if my blood froze.
That had to be the most insanely hard 'obstacle course' ever created.
"First one to the other side wins. If the course becomes difficult to the point where it threatens your lives, we'll stop it with the emergency controls. Remember, don't die," Leilah said, "go."
Immediately, Starlet and Trevor bolted into the building without an ounce of hesitation. I watched the screen as they both had to duck as a huge metal claw came hurtling in their direction. Starlet caught onto the claw and pulled herself on top of it.
The claw took another swing at Trevor, Starlet still holding onto it desperately. She ripped off a panel on the side and yanked out the brightly colored cords. The claw powered down and hit the ground with a thud. Starlet quickly rolled onto her feet and began running. Trevor was right behind her, and they ran about a mile before suddenly dropping into the ground.
