Starlet's p.o.v.

Patches was standing over Max's cowering body when I regained consciousness. I could barely see, and there was a loud ringing in my ears. My head was pounding, and I found myself unable to move.

I was about to strike, my mouth opening unconsciously. I was about to bite his neck, but the look on his face caused me to pause. I fought against the urge to kill him, even though he deserved it. He'd saved me. I couldn't kill him.

I felt like I was being sucked from the inside out, and suddenly, I was no longer in the destroyed cell. I was in what looked like a concrete jungle. There were many abandoned buildings with thousands of different runes.

A girl sat on one of the crumbled buildings, her back to me. Her hair was a tangled brown mess with black and white streaks running through it.

"You made it," she said, her voice high and echoed.

"Who are you?" I growled, struggling to my feet. She turned, and I froze. She....was me. The only differences were her hair, the fact that her eyes were blood red, and her elonginated fangs and nails.

"I am Fury," She responded.

"Wh.....what's going on?!" I asked, scrambling backwards.

"I am the demon from within you, Starlet," Fury said, standing and leaping gracefully from the building.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"Inside of your mind," Fury replied as she stalked closer to me.

In a literal second she had me by the throat.

"Why have you interrupted my work?" She shouted.

"I won't kill Max," I choked. Fury's eyes grew dark and she released me. I fell to the ground, gasping to catch my breath.

"That wasn't Maximillian," she said flatly.

"What the hell are you talking about?!" I hissed at her. She growled and grabbed me by my hair.

"Don't you dare disrespect me, girl," she barked at me.

"Let me go," I ground out. Her eyes seemed to darken even more and she threw me away from her.

"If this is going to work out, we'll have to set up some ground rules," she said.

"What do you mean that wasn't Max?" I asked.

"Look, I have no idea if the actual Maximillian is behind this, but that wasn't him. It was a demon spawn that transformed itself to look like him," she explained.

"Liar," I shouted.

"Why would I lie?" she challenged me, and I was at a loss for words.

"I....I don't know," I said finally.

"For starters, I will never be your 'friend.' I am your ally, nothing more. We were thrown together and now we're stuck with each other," Fury growled.

"Fine by me," I spat.

Hiiiii! I know this is short, and crappy, but it's kind of just an answer to what happened. As soon as I upload this chapter, I'm uploading the next to make up for this one.

After that, it's only 1 chapter left!!! I actually already have it written, and I'm prepared to make a little deal. The day I get 60 votes and, hmmm, 15 comments on the NEXT chapter is the day I upload the final chapter. So get voting and commenting, guys!

Until next time,
