Noon, Preble parking lot
I sit outside in my truck wondering when he would show. I have been waiting for maybe ten minutes. Maybe he's not coming or forgot. I turn on my car, ready to leave when I saw his smile. I unlocked the door and gave him a smile as he sat down.
"Hello." I say and he looks at me.
"Hello love." He says and I smile.
"Where would you like to go?" He asks.
"Not really hungry." I say smiling.
"Okay want to just go sit somewhere, I'm not hungry either." He says and I nod then drive, knowing the place close by to go. I turn the music on until we arrive at the woods near by.
"The woods?" He asks and I nod then get out as he looks at me confused. I walk towards the woods as he follows. "Why are we walking around the woods?"
"Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. I want to show you something really cool I found with... a friend a couple years ago." I pause when I say friend. Should I just tell him?
"Promise?" He asks stopping and I turn and look at him as we enter the woods. I walk over to him.
"Promise. Now come on." I say grabbing his arm and bringing him behind me.
"So, how long have you lived in Wisconsin?" He asks.
"My whole live. How about you?" I say looking at the leaves covering the ground.
"I moved here when I was maybe three months because of my dad. Are you going to home coming?" He asks looking at me.
"Most likely not why?" I ask looking at him. "Are you?"
"I was going to but have nobody to go with." He looks forward. "What is that?"
"That's where we are going." I say looking at the concert structure. The last person I dated brought me here and this was or hang out where we had party's and stuff. It just takes a lot out of me to try and forget him and what happened. We walk closer without saying a word, just listening tot he bird chirping and the trees swaying from the cool gust of wind.
"What is so interesting about this place?" He asks me as we enter the structure. A small stream of water goes right down the middle. I turn and look at him then grab my phone and turn on the flash, showing off the graffiti walls. "Wow."
"Ya." I say as he looks at the walls in shock. He slowly walks down the tunnel with his own flash light as I look at the other wall of the tunnel. I haven't been here in a while and some people added new art pieces. A group of three people walk into the tunnel from the other end laughing.
"Hey Laura. This looks like you... exactly like you." He says and I look at him as he shows the picture. I thought someone would have covered it up by now. I forgot he did that a while back.
"Hey," One of the guys from the other end of the tunnel says walking toward Brody. The voice is familiar and it sends a shiver down my spine. It can't be. "That master piece is mine."
"It is just great." Brody says complementing him. Jacob, my ex boyfriend, stops next to Brody as his friends screw around. I shine my flashlight at them just to make sure I wasn't in a nightmare but they were there. I look at Jacob and he smiles as the light shines on him. "Who is it..."
"What are you doing here Jacob?" I ask him and he slowly walks towards me.
"Same thing as you. Just enjoying the graffiti." He says.
"You guys know each other?" Brody asks as Jacob stops right in front of me. He gives me a side smile.
"Ya. We go back." Jacob says and I look at Brody as he shines his light at me.
