October 11
Yesturday I didn't see Steven or Brody the whole day. I texted them and they didn't answer. I don't know what they were doing all day that they had to skip school and not answer me. Maybe they were forming a way to get me away from Jacob or something. I was going to text Steven and tell him that he has changed since yesterday but he isn't answering me and I don't think he knows about my face yet. Maybe the Steven thinks he killed me or something because I wasn't at my house when he was going to pick me up. Maybe that's why they weren't here. Me and Jacob are good and nothing has happened yet to make me change my mind about him changing. I think he is really changing for the better. Jacob stops at the front of school and talks with a few of his friends. I look around at the faces standing around outside then catch a familiar eye. Steven. We walk toward each other and meet half way.
"Hey." I say.
"Oh my god." He says looking at me then at Jacob. "I'm going to kill him..."
"No, no, no. We solved everything." I say. "Don't worry, I'm fine and handled it. Where were you and Brody yesterday?"
"Hey." Brody says and I turn to him and his mouth opens. "It's worse then I thought."
"I'm fine guys." I say and they look at each other. "Why weren't you guys here yesterday?"
"We were busy." Steven says looking at Jacobs head as he looks over at me and smiles. I smile back then look at Steven and Brody again who look like I just grew a third head.
"Thought you didn't like each other." I say and they look at me the same way. "Okay..."
"Why are you all happy?" Steven asks looking at me.
"Am I not able..."
"Laura. He hit you. Look at your face." Brody says.
"Are you serious right now? Maybe if you guys were here yesterday or answered any of my texts then maybe you would know something." I say looking at them. "We made up because you know what, he promised that he would never hit me again. He has changed but you wouldn't know because you are too busy being mad that he made one drunk mistake."
"Are you serious Laura?" Steven almost screams and I start walking toward Jacob but he grabs my arm and I turn back really quick.
"Don't touch me." I say pulling my arm away. "If you are just going to be so quick to judge people then take it somewhere else because I don't want your bull shit right now. I made up with him and you are going to have to deal with it. If you are unhappy that he is finally going to be a good boyfriend then take your complaints somewhere else because don't want to hear them anymore."
"He is filling your head with shit, why can't you see that?" Brody asks looking at me. Both of their muscle are starting to come out like they are ready for a fight any second. I feel a presence behind me and turn to see Jacob as he puts a arm around my shoulders.
"What is going on over here?" Jacob asks looking Steven right in the eye. "Looked like you guys were fighting so I came over to make sure everything is okay."
"Nothing." I say. "We are okay now. I just had to explain something to them."
"Why are you talking to these low lives anyway?" He asks and I look at him.
"Jacob! They are my friends. Please don't call them that." I say pulling away from his arm to look at him. He nods trying to control himself. He has a lot of anger problems but he promised he would try his best to control them. "I'll see you guys at lunch."
"Ya." Steven says as we walk away.
"What was that about?" I ask him as he grabs my hand when we enter school.
"I just... I forgot for a minute that I can't say that anymore. I promise I will try harder." He says and I smile at him. "I just really hate them."
"Why do you hate them so much anyway?" I ask.
"I don't know. I just have a natural hate for them." He says looking at me with a little anger in his eye.
After school
I throw some textbooks into my locker as I do everyday then close the door to see Steven.
"Hey." I say closing my bag and standing up across from him.
"We need to talk." He says.
"About what? If it is about..."
"We NEED to talk." He says giving me a look that tells me it is important.
"Okay. You and Brody come over at seven. Just come in, back door will be unlocked." I say and he nods as I feel arms around my neck hugging me.
"Hello babe." Jacob says.
"Hello." I say putting my hands on his arm.
"What are you talking about?" He asks looking at Steven.
"Just about stupid math." I say. Steven smiles then looks down at his phone then up at me. My boyfriend seems oblivious as he see's his friends walk by. I nod to Steven.
"I'll see you later." He says then walks away.
"Bye." I say.
"Ready?" Jacob asks and I nod then we walk to his car. When we are in his car he looks at me. "What did he want?" He gets really serious. Like too serious.
"To talk, Jacob. Calm down." I say and he looks forward.
"Just tell me." He says and I look at him.
"What do you want me to say?" I ask. "I literally just talked to my friend so calm down a little."
"Don't tell me to calm down." he says and I just look at him.
"What is your problem?" I ask. "You were fine the whole day but now your going back to your asshole attitude. If your going to act that way I'm just going to leave..." I go to the door and unlock it but he locks it again.
"Seriously, what is your problem?" I look at him and he just stares back. He looks past me and I try to look but he grabs my chin and kisses me. He keeps kissing me then after a while I pull back and smile but he isn't looking at me. I turn around and see his friends car parked next to us and they are all watching with their phones out. I look back at Jacob and he is smiling at them. I open the door.
"Where are you going?" He asks as I get out.
"To catch the bus you asshole." I say then walk toward the bus. I get to where the bus is but it leaves. Shit. I see Stevens car pull up next to me and get in without thinking. He drives off right away before we even speak. "Slow down there bud."
"No. We need to talk." He says and I look at him then into the back and see Brody.
