CHAPTER TWELVE

After Jeno and Jaemin had been together for a few months, Jeno's mom started to get suspicious about his son because his cheerful behavior made her surprised. So he decided to ask his son about it. Well, she just curious that her son's attitude is getting brighter than before.

She went to Jeno's room and knocked the door softly a few times. She heard a soft "come in" from inside and opened the door.

'Jeno?'

'What is it, mom?' Jeno asked while reading his book at the desk studying as usual.

'We need to talk.' His mom said, making Jeno sighed and closed his book. Then his mom sat on the bed while looking at Jeno with somehow a hint of worries on her face.

'Is there something going on with you?' His mom asked.

'What do you mean, mom?' Jeno said while furrowed his eyebrows.

'You seems to look happier than before.'

'What are you talking about mom? Can't I be happy?'

'No, I mean you can but your behavior changes so suddenly.'

'Mom, if I tell you this, would you be happy about it?'

'What is it?'

'I bet you will mad at me about it but I don't care anymore, mom. It's been a few months already.'

'Don't tell me that -'

'Yes, mom. I got myself a boyfriend now. He always makes me happy. He always cheers me up in every situation. I can't live without his supportive words every day and you always insist me to study. Can you give me a break for a while?' Jeno explained.

Then her mom was speechless, words couldn't come out from her mouth. She felt guilty. Very very guilty. She always very strict to her son, she knew that it'll gonna happen someday. Jeno is not a rebellious boy, he always listened to her mom. But in his love life, Jeno had to disobey her mom.

'I-I'm sorry, Jeno. I -'

'I get it, mom. Everything that you said to me is for my own good but you can't tell them not to get involved in a relationship. Even though I'm in a relationship right now but I will focus on my study as well and don't you worry, mom. My love life won't affect my studies, I promised that.' Jeno said as he holds both of her mom's hands while looking at her with a full of hope in his eyes.

Then her mom had to give up and let his son do whatever he wants. Jeno is a good child to her and she loves Jeno very much. She was worried about Jeno's future, that's why she had to be very strict on him. But for now, she let Jeno free.

'You said so. Make sure you study well in your academics.' His mom finally said, making Jeno smiled widely.

'Thank you, mom.' Then Jeno went to hug his mom as his mom rubbing his back gently. Jeno missed her mom's hug. It's been a long time since Jeno was a kid. Jeno's tears fell down to his mom's blouse as he tightens his hug.

After that, they broke the hug and his mom saw Jeno was crying, making her smiled. Then she wiped off his tears with his hand gently.

'Don't cry. Can you bring the boy here tomorrow?'

'What boy?' Jeno asked.

'Your boyfriend of course. I want to meet him.'

'Sure, mom.'

'Alright, go to bed and sleep.'

'Okay, mom.' Then Jeno went to his bed and laid down while covering his body with a blanket. His mom kissed Jeno's forehead and smiled at him.

'Good night, Jeno.'

'Good night, mom.' Then his mom got up from the bed and switched off the light. She took a glance at Jeno for last time and went out from his room.

Jeno felt very grateful for his mom. Finally, he can bring Jaemin to see his mom tomorrow. After a few months together, his mom finally allowed him to date. But there's one thing, he should make an explanation to Jaemin because he lied to him for a few months by telling him their parents went out for a vacation to avoid meeting with his mom.

'Oh god, this is gonna be a long day tomorrow.' Jeno mumbled to himself.

'Aish, whatever. Just hope for the best tomorrow.' Then he closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

After school, Jeno went to the coffee shop as usual. He entered the shop and saw Jaemin wiping the tables. Jeno decided not to disturb him so he went to one of the tables and sat down while waiting for him to finish.

After Jaemin done wiping the tables, he saw Jeno sitting at the corner, making his lips curved into a smile. Then he walked towards Jeno who's looking out through the window and he wrapped his arms around Jeno's neck from behind while giggling, making him startle.

'Hey Jaemin, are you done?' Jeno asked.

'Almost, why?'

'I have something to tell you and it's very important.' Jeno said, making Jaemin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

'Hmmm, we shouldn't talk here. Can you wait for me until my shift is over?'

'Yeah sure.'

'Wanna drink?'

'Uhm, just give me an iced coffee please.'

'Alright.' Then Jaemin went off to make his drink. After that, Jaemin came back with Jeno's iced coffee and put it on the table.

'Thanks, babe.' Jeno said, making Jaemin giggle.

'Your welcome.' Then Jaemin went back to work.
