MacKenzie's POV

After being ripped away from my brother in the firey tunnel, I ran through the halls of STAR labs. I didn't make it very far, but I was in the hallway outside the accelerator ring.

Caitlin was sitting in the accelerator ring area but I knew that we both needed our own spaces at the moment.

I wipe my hair away from my eyes and pulls my knees to my chest and I slide down the wall. I let more tears fall, holding onto the silver cross necklace that belonged to Ronnie.

Cisco was walking through the halls, most likely going to check on the two of us. He found me first.

"Mack..." Cisco trails off quietly, sitting next to me. I close my eyes and tears run down my cheeks. "Mack, we'll get him back..."

"I...I just miss him so much..." I say through my tears. "I need my brother." I tell him. "I don't wanna be alone anymore."

"You're not alone." Cisco tells me. "You've got Barry and Caitlin and me and we're happy to be your family." He softly says.

"Ronnie's different." I say. "He's my actual brother. We ARE connected. And...and I DID feel him in my heart, Cisco. No one believes me, but I did."

"I believe you." Cisco says.

"Thanks." I say, rubbing a tear from my cheek. "I can still feel him. There's a small thread connecting or hearts and I feel him. He's scared and nervous and....what happens if we don't help him in time? What happens if I don't feel him in my heart anymore? What happens if we can't get to him and he-he...." I say quickly and get cut off by Cisco.

"We will get him back." Cisco reassures me.

"And what happens when we do?" I ask, looking at him. "He didn't remember himself. What if he didn't remember me. What if he never remembers me? That hurts a lot worse than him dying..." I trail off and cry.

"Come 'ere." He says. He stands up and puts his arms down towards me. I let him pick me up and he carries me on his left hip like I'm a toddler, which is what I probably weigh.

He carries me to the accelerator ring and sits next to Caitlin.

I lay my head on his shoulder, sitting on his leg and look at Caitlin who is also teary eyed as she talks.

"Caitlin..." Cisco says. "Don't worry. Hey, look at me, you too, Mack. NOW that we know he's out there, we will find Ronnie again."

"Why, So we can throw him in there with all the other metahuman psychos?" Caitlin asks. After a minute of silence, she starts talking again and I hold onto Ronnie's necklace. "I used to play this game in my head. What would I give up for just one more minute with him? My house...my career...the rest of my life? Today I finally got that minute. And I wish I hadn't. Seeing him like that...what he's become....dear God...I wish he had just died that day." I bury my head in Cisco's shirt and cry as he pulls a crying Caitlin into his shirt as well, comforting the two of us.

***

I was walking down the hallways of STAR labs, just minding my own business, when a flash speeds by me.

"Barry?" I ask and I follow the trail the speedster left down to a weird looking place. There was a forcefield thing and a speedster in it, but it wasn't Barry.

I stood frozen at the doorway as men with guns started coming in the room.

Oh no...quakes start.

"Cisco? Lights." Dr. Wells yells up to Cisco through the coms.

Lights go on and I see a vibrating yellow figure with red eyes standing there.

"Detective Thawne, would you like to read him his rights?" Dr. Wells asks the police officer behind me with a gun trained at the speedster.

Mr. West starts walking towards the speedster.

"Joe, what are you doing?" Mr. Thawne asks.

"Getting some answers." Mr. West says. "14 years ago you murdered Nora Allen. I want to know why. Why?"

"Dr. Wells. We meet at last." The speedster says, completely ignoring Mr. West.

"What do you want with the tachyonic particles?" Dr. Wells asks, rolling forwards a little.

"My goals are beyond your understanding." The speedster says.

"Oh, I don't know. I'm a pretty smart guy." Dr. Wells says. As they talk, I feel my quakes die down. Sweet. "I knew you were exceptionally fast, so any trap we manufactured would have to be invisible. I knew your cells could repair themselves at extraordinary speeds, so you could withstand the damage this is doing to your body right now. The reason I know all this is because your powers are almost exactly like those of The Flash."

"Oh, I'm not like The Flash at all. Some would say that I'm the reverse." The speedster says.

"Dr. Wells, evacuate!" Caitlin's voice comes over the speaker. "Get out of there now! Dr. Wells!" My quakes started up a little.

The speedster broke out of the forcefield and my quakes shook the room, causing a few people to stumble. They didn't seem to know where the quakes were from, which is good cause then they'd be shooting me.

The speedster grabbed Dr. Wells and started beating him up.

"Cisco, turn off the barrier!" Mr. West yells.

"If I turn it off that thing's gonna get out." Cisco says.

"Cisco, he's gonna kill Wells!" Mr. West yells.

The speedster continues to beat Dr. Wells up and my quakes continue to rumble the floor. Mr. West breaks the control panel, causing sparks to fly and I shield my face and crouch to the floor so I don't get burned.

Dr. Wells' face is bloody and cut up and the speedster takes the tachyon thing and speeds over to me, pinning me against the back wall. Guess my quakes didn't bother him.

"Stay out of my way." He growls, throwing me on the ground and Barry swoops in, runs me outside and starts to fight the other speedster.

I watch with wide eyes, leaning against the wall and my quakes making me weak.

I see Cisco and Caitlin walk out the door, looking up at the flashes of lightening in the air and then looking at me.

"Mack." Cisco says. He tries to pick me up but I protest.

"My quakes. They'll hurt you..." I say tiredly.

"Your quakes aren't going." Cisco says. He picks me up, one arm under my legs and the other supporting my back, my body completely weak. My quakes aren't going? What's that supposed to mean?

"Barry!" Caitlin yells as we watch Barry get beaten up.

Then, fire shoots the other speedster off of Barry.

Ronnie!

I wanted to call to him but my powers, or something else, were draining me too much, and my eyelids were getting heavier by the second.

"Our race is not yet done. See you soon, Flash." The speedster says Before running off.

Caitlin and Cisco, who's still carrying me, run over to Barry. Caitlin runs to Ronnie and Cisco holds me tight as he helps Barry up. I wanted so bad to jump into Ronnie's arms, but he flamed up and flew away.

I feel Cisco pass me over to Barry and my eyelids get too heavy to keep open.

I pass out.

Merry Christmas to me.
