Screws

There were two little girls
Learning about the world
Why it keeps changing
Why it keeps going the same way

As time went on
It kept going
It never stopped
The leaves went from green to brown every year
They were older
Not wiser
One wanted someone to hold her
The other was getting numb and colder

They were losing their screws
They no longer liked to wonder
One was only curious why the guy she was talking to never texted her
The other was curious why she never just ended herself
One's favorite word was friend
The others was end
Then again
The human mind dotes the idea of wonder
To float on clouds in thunder
Both girls were each other's yonder

A slip of words is the black birds chirp
A weed in the growing of herbs
Wonder makes us alive
But does it keep us dead in the midst of life?
