So, if you remember, the defaultconstruct of a rich, successful person is that NOT HAVING ENOUGHcreates PAIN and STRESS. By creating more things,we remove the pain and dissonance. To go with with that idea, therich and successful have values, beliefs and principles that allowthem to feel that they are the ones responsible for giving more, aswell as allow them to have the correct mental attitude to do exactlythat!

The Difference Between VALUES,BELIEFS and PRINCIPLES

For some, maybe these three thingssound the same but I think a better way to think of them is thatVALUES are the things that feel important for us (taking intoaccount the construct we believe in). We then express these things asa sentence encapsulating that value, which we call a BELIEF. Wethen put these beliefs into action by making a statement of what weintend to do to live by them, which we call PRINCIPLES.

VALUES

In agreement with the positiveconstruct of a successful person, some possible values could be -

Achievement/success

Accountability/Ethics

Authority/Honesty

Care

Collaboration

Competition

Community

Confidence/Competence

Creativity

Discipline

Diversity

Efficiency

Equality

Expressiveness/Joy

Growth

Integration/Wholeness

Ownership

Prestige/Image

Productivity

Responsibility

Rights/Respect

Security

Service/Vocation

Self-Actualisation

Self-Worth

Trust

These are just some examples. Maybe youcan think of more! Which ones feel important to you (in line with theconstruct of a successful person)? Choose as many as you like!

BELIEFS

Having chosen your values, you shouldnow write out a sentence expressing it as a belief. What do youbelieve about that value? So for example -

VALUE - Achievement/Success

1/ I believe that having a profitablebusiness will make me successful.

2/ I believe that helping others willmake me successful.

3/ I believe bringing up my kids sothat they believe in themselves will make me successful.

Here I have given three examples forjust one value – the first is worldly, the second charitable, thethird family-based. You can express your belief as anything you want,as long as you start with the words "I believe..."

Do this for all the values you chose! Now you have a system of beliefs!

PRINCIPLES

So what are you going to do about thesevalues and beliefs? To obtain your dream life, you need to takeaction! So now, for each belief sentence you wrote, write a statementof intention describing how you will express your belief in yourlife. For example -

BELIEF - I believe that having aprofitable business will make me successful.

1/ I will study Business at university.

2/ I will investigate businessopportunities in areas in which I am interested.

3/ I will gain experience in workingfor other companies.

Express each principle as an "I will"statement. Write at least one for each belief. If you need more, thenwrite more! Think long-term. If possible, try to think of everypossible thing that could fulfill that belief. Even better, put themin order of which one should get done first! Then you will start tosee an action plan taking shape!

Do this with all your values andbeliefs and then, when you are finished, you will have a pretty solidoutline of what your dream life will possibly look like! Are youfeeling excited yet? I AM!
