Chapter Six: Blitzkrieg Bop

The Ramones, pleased with their performance, decide to play another song.

"This next song is called Blitzkrieg Bop!" Joey says, leaning into the microphone.

Victoria and Natalie both jump up from the couch and start dancing to the music. Everyone was having a great time, even Johnny looked like he may have been smiling for a second, but only a second. Once the band was done with practice, Dee Dee and Victoria finally had a chance to talk.

"Victoria, I've been meaning to ask you something. When you called on the phone earlier, you sounded really sad. What's wrong?" Dee Dee says sitting on the couch, and Victoria comes and sits on his lap, he holds her tightly in his arms. Victoria lays her head on Dee Dee's chest.

"It's my parents. They, they want me to go back to California." Victoria's eyes swell up, and fill with tears, and the tears slowly run down her cheeks.

"But why?" Dee Dee asks. He then uses the back of his index finger to wipe away some of the tears. He moves her long hair out of the way, and kisses her forehead softly.

"It's my fault, really. I just shouldn't have dropped out of college. It just wasn't for me."

"They can't do that to you, to us! We have a good thing going here. We can run away, we'll go wherever you want."

Johnny glares at both Victoria and Dee Dee.

"Don't even think about it! Dee Dee!"

"Hey! Anyone see where Joey went?" Tommy asks as he scans the basement.

"Oh, I think he went with Natalie to the bedroom." Victoria says.

"Isn't this fucking great?! Any minute now, my bass player is about to run away with his girlfriend, and now my singer is in danger too! Unbelievable."

"Johnny. Just back off. This is really none of your business." Dee Dee says as he stands up.

"What? What? Are you gonna try to fight me again?" Johnny says, raising his voice.

Suddenly, Joey and Natalie both exit Dee Dee's bedroom. Each have messed up hair, and are blushing and giggling. The top of Natalie's shirt is unbuttoned, and Joey's shirt is untucked. The two walk hand in hand over to the living room couch. Johnny shakes his head in disgust.

Joey and Natalie's laughter soon came to an end once they noticed the tension between Dee Dee and Johnny.

"So did anything interesting happen while Natalie and me were umm..."

Natalie quickly answers for Joey. "Playing Monopoly!" She buries her face into Joey's shoulder and tries her best not to laugh. Joey tries to hold back his laughter as well.

"Yeah. Something happened. Thanks to his new girlfriend, Dee Dee's leaving the band!"

"Wait a minute, John. That's not fair. Dee Dee never said that." Tommy steps in to defend Dee Dee.

"I never said that, Johnny!"

"Dee Dee's not leaving. I'm going back to California!" Victoria explains.

"Good. I'm glad you're leaving. New York is probably too much for you, anyway." Johnny tells Victoria.

"Shut the fuck up, John!" Dee Dee yells.

Victoria starts to cry. Natalie leaves Joey, and goes to comfort her friend.

Victoria wipes the tears from her face.

"No. It's ok. He's right. I'm just gonna leave now." Victoria says, grabbing her purse from the coffee table.

"Don't go!" Dee Dee pleads. As Victoria walks towards the front door.
