Chapter Ten: Rockaway Beach

Today was a special day for Dee Dee and the rest of the Ramones. They had their first unofficial gig. Some high school kids were throwing a party at Rockaway beach, and they had asked the Ramones to play a few songs.
That's not even the best news of all, Victoria had been released from the hospital two days ago. As a matter of fact, She and Natalie we're each coming to tonight's party. Dee Dee couldn't have been more thrilled. To be honest though, he was a bit concerned, considering she had recently tried to take her own life.

The Ramones had arrived at the beach early to set up for the party. Other than arguing over which songs to perform, for the most part, they were totally prepared. Dee Dee was very excited,yet equally nervous about this. He thought, no he knew the Ramones were something special.

The party was going great, and everyone loved the Ramones.

"And this one's called Beat on the brat"! Joey shouts to a hundred screaming teens.

"1-2-3-4!" Dee Dee counts off, and he looks into the crowd of dancing teens, and sees Victoria standing close to the stage, standing there, giving him a loving smile. He smiles back.

Once the band is done playing, Victoria watches Natalie run into Joey's arms. She stands still and Dee Dee quickly runs over to her.

"You guys fucking rocked tonight!" Victoria smiles.

"You really think so?" Dee Dee laughs.

"Dee Dee, Natalie and I are gonna take off. We've got things to do. Ok?" Joey says happily.

"Good show tonight, guys. I gotta go too. My wife was expecting me home a while ago." Johnny says.

"Bye John. See you later." Tommy says with a wave.

Dee Dee and Victoria are now taking a romantic walk on the boardwalk. It was late, the moon was out, and stars were shining bright.

"It's so cold out here." Victoria says, shivering.

"Are we gonna talk about why you tried to kill yourself?" Dee Dee asks quietly, handing her his leather jacket.

"I told you. Now I really don't wanna talk about it anymore, Dee Dee."

"Ok. I'm sorry." Dee Dee apologizes.

Dee Dee suddenly stops, and quickly turns around. He can hear footsteps behind him. He shields Victoria, as he grabs the switchblade from his back pocket. He can see the shadow of a man coming towards him.
