Here is a note to you,
Adventure,
Wonderer,
Observer.
You have wondered back into the woods,
A baron yet scary place.
A place where things are not what they seem,
Or appear to be.
Welcome back to a place where your nightmares,
Your fears,
And your darkest thoughts come to rest.
Though they do not rest,
They hide under the bushes,
In the trees,
In the deepest and darkest spots they can find.
They hide,
And wait to pounce.
What may seem harmless may be brutal.
They may not attack right away,
Instead they walk in,
Stalk,
Waiting,
Waiting for the best time.
May be minutes,
May be hours,
May be days.
In some cases they may wait for years.
But will you stay in the woods that long,
Long enough for them to pounce.
Or will you flee,
Run away,
And escape their clutches.
I have made a mistake,
I stayed,
I let them pounce.
They lead me to the dessert,
Dug my feet in the sand.
I am stuck,
But not forever.
I can help you,
So please listen to my words,
Do not stay in the woods,
Unless you want to face the creatures that lay under the blankets that call themselves shadows.
