The Desert

To the dreamers,
the searchers,
and the adventurers.
Here now is the dessert,
A place only a few can survive.
Ones of determination,
Ones of strength.
You may think that you have past it's ways,
But wait,
Look down.
Are you trapped in the sand?
As it teachers around your legs,
As it pulls you deeper,
Do you feel it burn?
Do you feel the pain?
You may try to squirm,
Shake,
Rattle,
And free yourself from its bonds.
You will not.
Pray that nothing lies beneath your feet,
For these creatures bite,
And when they do they will leave you marked,
Marks that will never leave,
Or disappear.
They will stick with you,
Forever,
To your eternity.
Soon you will find it worthless,
To squirm,
And battle the sands.
You may chose to drown,
Sink into the sands that shackle your feet.
Trust my words when I say don't,
There is always a way out,
There must be one,
Possibly two.
Even if you escape,
You are sure to stumble upon another.
Certainly you will,
But will you escape the sand.
