18 ~ Mission to the Wave...Or Not

PLEASE READ!! VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE IN THIS THAT YOU NEED TO READ OTHERWISE THIS CHAPTER WON'T MAKE SENSE.....kinda...!!!!

Well as I was writing this, I wanted to give team 7 a mission outside the village.But Minato is the Hokage so that makes no sense as he would never do that to his son knowing his current condition. Sooooo I decided that at the Hokage's office there is a random desk with some random person that gives out the missions. But the Hokage can also give out personal missions as well.

Well enjoy this chapter!! I'm so sorry for the long wait!

Minato POV

I slowly backed away from Naruto knowing that it would make him feel a bit safer.

I sat on the floor about two metres away from him. Then I started to talk in a whisper. "Naruto, it's me, your dad. I'm not going to hurt you I promise. I don't know what happened but you can tell me. I will help you."

Naruto looked up at me, tears streaming down his face. He slowly started to walk over to me and looked me in the eyes. I put my arms around him and pulled him into a comforting hug. At first he flinched and tensed up, but slowly settled into the hug. He then started to fall asleep in my arms after around five minutes of crying.

I took him into my room and laid him on the left side of the bed before climbing in on the right. After a few minutes, I looked at the clock reading 4:00am. I couldn't get to sleep so I got up, sent a clone to the Hokages office and sat on the couch.

~Time Skip 8:00am~Naruto POV~

As my eyes fluttered open, I looked around to see that I was in my dad's room. My mind then went back to what happened last night............the nightmare. I could remember being scared but that's really it. It was all just a blur to me.

I quickly jumped off the bed and ran into the lounge room to see my dad sitting in the couch reading a book. He turned his head and looked at me right in the eyes. His eyes held comfort, it kinda felt like I was being wrapped around a blanket. If that even makes any sense......

He gave me a massive smile before speaking. "Hey Naruto! I made you some ramen. It's on the table so you can eat it whenever you are ready!" He said with a happy tone. I think he just wants to ignore what happened last night...but I don't think I can do that. I need to talk to him about it. I want someone to help me with the nightmares and I know that he is capable at that. Maybe he could do a seal or something. I guess I'll talk to him when we are eating.

I took a seat at the table, my father following not to far behind. He sat on the seat across from me. He looked at me and gave me a smile. He looked so happy, like nothing even happend last night.... But stuff did happen last night...and we need to talk about it.

"Dad...I know about last night. I know you are probably avoiding it but i feel like we need to talk about it." I said. He looked at me with shock in his eyes...but nodded slightly. I was about to continue when I heard a knock at the door. My father got up and went to the door. I quickly gulped down my ramen and joined him. My dad opened the door to see Kakashi-Sensei standing there.

"Hello Minato-Sensei! I'm so sorry to intrude but the missions office has requested to see us. (Just a reminder to read the A/N at the top of the page to learn why I did this) You are welcome to come with us if you want to know that mission!" And as he finished saying that, he poofed away.

No One's POV

Naruto and Minato quickly started dashing around the house getting dressed and ready to see the missions office.

~Time Skip to the Missions Office~

All of team seven and Minato stood in a line at the missions office. An lady stood up behind that counter and handed a piece of paper to Kakashi. "Ok team seven, your mission is to escort a bridge builder back to his home town, the wave country, safely and to help him finish building his bridge. This is a C-Ranked mission and will probably take 1-2 weeks. The bridge builder will meet you at the gate in around 1 hour." Kakashi looked at Minato with a worried face before looking at the lady.

"Mam, pardon me asking, but why are genins doing a C-Rank mission?" He asked. She looked at him, shrugged her shoulders and walked away to continue with her work. Kakashi looked at Sakura and Sasuke before saying, "You two go home and start to pack. Remember meet at the gate in one hour unless you are told not to by me or Minato." They both nodded and ran off to their houses. Minato grabbed Naruto's shoulder and Hirashinned to his house, Kakashi following not long after.
