I looked around the now empty hospital wing searching for any sign of Blair but the place was clean. Fresh sheets put down on her bed. I walk out and head to Henry's room knocking on his door until he answers. His eyes are red as if he's been crying and his hair is messy. "Henry do you know where-" "No" He cuts me off. I look into his eyes and the hard expression on his face unsure what's going on. "I didn't even finish asking you my question" I answer trying to get him to lighten up. "Well I know what you were going to ask and I don't know Willa. Her Aunt Ellie decided to turn up out of the blue and decided to take her to a healer" He scoffs.
"Isn't that a good thing? Someone who can wake her up?" I ask hopefully. He looks up at the ceiling and closes his eyes. When he looks at me again he seems calmer. "Healers are great if they know what they're doing... but a lot of the time they don't and they try to heal too much" He explains. "What do you mean?" I question. he sighs and opens his door. We sit on the couch in his room and I can't help but look at movie star features. His usual bright and happy face is tired. Lines are showing under his red eyes.
"Most healers are like me, they can only heal themselves. Some however, can heal others. The issue with healing others is it can be hard to know when to stop. You might be only meant to heal a broken bone and end up clearing any blemishes on the skin, and any muscle issues in the area" He explains. "Wouldn't that be a good thing though? I mean healing her brain to the max possible sounds perfect to me" I respond. "Unfortunately issues with the mind are a bit different Willa. If you heal too much you can take away memories, restore parts of the brain to a state where they have to learn again. Like a form of amnesia" Henry says making my confusion clear.
I now understand why he's upset. I can't help but let out a small laugh at the turn of events during my time here.
"Willa what's funny? This could ruin Blair's life!" He growls
"It's not that. I'm just thinking about how we got here. A few months ago you all hated Blair and I was scared of her. Now look at us" I murmur gesturing around. He gives a small nod at my explanation.
"I've known Blair Grey for a long time. After Melanie was murdered she became such a spiteful and rude person. When you came here and she started training you it was almost like Mel was back with her change in attitude" Henry smiles. I can't help but smile at that too.
"You were bringing out the best in her Willa. I hope we can get her back" He says and his smile turns sad. I squeeze his hand and give him a hopeful look, "she'll be back Henry".
He nods and gets up stretching. "How'd your meeting go?" He asks as he goes to his closet. I can't help but blush a bit when he changes his shirt and I look the other way. "It was interesting. They want me to go to London" I mention.
"London" He murmurs.
"Yeah London. To join a team to get rid of the Hunters" I answer playing with my star necklace.
Henry is silent for a long time and when I look at him his dark eyes are blank of expression.
"What did you say?" He asks quietly.
"I said I'd think about it. Depends if they can get Blair back to train me" I shrug. He nods in response and looks at the ground for a second before looking up at me carefully.
"Willa going to London is very dangerous for conjurers at the moment. Don't let them force you into it. Make sure its your own decision" He says slowly. "I wouldn't go if I didn't want to Henry. I'm thinking about it but I think I need more training before I go somewhere dangerous" I reply.
"You're stronger than you think Willa. Don't underestimate yourself. Anyways I need to go see Emily and explain what's happened with Blair" He says running a hand through his messy bronze hair.
We exit his room and bump into someone I haven't seen since my arrival at the Camp.
Giulia Adair.
"Henry can you get Willa for me?" She asks Henry.
I cough and she looks at me more for a few seconds before her eyes widen.
"Willa I'm sorry you've changed so much I didn't recognise you!" She says in shock. My cheeks go red as she stares at me. "And these are only considered minor according to Jacquie. We suspect that she'll go through a few big changes in the coming months" Henry responds.
Have I really changed that much? i know I'm not a 5,4 anymore, probably closer to 5,6 but besides that I hadn't noticed many changes. "Willa I'm here on behalf of your parents. They wanted to come see you themselves but something popped up with Alessio" Giulia says smiling at me. Henry gives me a wave before walking away.
"What's going on Mrs Adair?" I ask leaning against a wall. "Well Willa you're parents were notified you'd be returning home for the Christmas period before returning for training. Your father will come and pick you up on the 20th of December. I'm sure everyone will be very excited to see you" She says with a grin.
"It'll be nice to go home," I smile.
"Yes it will be. I have a request though Willa" Mrs Adair says looking serious.
I stare at her expectantly and see the change in her eyes. The calming look. Her attempts at compulsion are more obvious to me now since Blair taught me how to spot them.
"If someone is trying to compel them you'll be able to feel a calming presence. Calming in a way that isn't natural. if you feel this and you see someone staring at you in a way that you can't tell if they're being friendly or creepy, don't look directly into their eyes, that's the only way to avoid it" I remember her saying while tossing around a sword she'd been attempting to teach me to use.
Instead of looking directly into her eyes I stare at her nose. A simple enough trick that'll save me being compelled again.
"Do not visit Mark. I forbid you to see him while you are home. Understood?" She states.
I nod dreamishly and she smiles.
"Very well. I'll see you in a few days Willa" She says with a smile.
I nod and wave as she walks away and head into my room feeling very confused.
Why would she not want me to see Mark? First Giulia made me forget Mark, and now she's forbidding me to see him...
What on earth is going on?
