UNPREDICTED LOVE

Chapter Twenty-Nine

                        - Regina's POV -
Later on after everyone had, had drinks and chatted we moved the tables together ready to eat. Everyone sat down in their seats, at one end of the table sat Zelena and Robyn, next to them sat Robin and Roland. Along sat David and Snow.

Then Emma and Hook, then Henry,  me and Mia. Then at the other end sat Belle and Rumple. As we ate we chatted about all the adventures and stories which had occurred over the many years we had all spent together and how times have changed for us, especially some as everyone indicated towards me.

We joked about the enchanted forest days and how some wish we could go back there and others would prefer not to think about those days, and eventually it was beginning to get dark outside and the food was practically gone.

"I think we are going to call this a night" Hook said as him and Emma got up from the table and said their goodbyes to everyone before walking out of grannies.

A few moments later followed by Snow, Belle and Rumple who also excused themselves, then Zelena, Robyn, Roland and Robin also eventually left.

Leaving just me, Henry, Mia and David. We decided to help Granny clear up as it had been our idea to host this dinner anyway. After cleaning up we waved goodbye to granny and proceeded along main street back home. David stood on side holding Mia on his shoulders and I walked alongside holding Henry's hand. As we walked back home along the dim lit street, I watched as David raced ahead playfully throwing Mia round of his shoulders and Henry laughed before running ahead and joining in

"Ahhh help me Henwy" Mia said screaming with joy as David rolled his shoulders making her bounce about, Henry laughed while trying to grab hold of her but also jokily moving away

"Ah I can't Mia, the monster won't let me near you he's too strong!" he shouts as David growls and moves away from him pushing him back.

I watch in awe as they race ahead and I walk slowly behind with my hands in my pockets, and feel the happiness overfill me. Seeing in front of me, a family, my family that I have managed to create and inside I feel that I have finally gotten my happy ending. All those years of never believing it could be possible for me and never thinking I would have the chance but now seeing my husband and two children playfully racing ahead made my mind bobble with overwhelming feelings.

As we continued to walk, the thoughts raced through my head and I couldn't help but have a smile smirk across my face slightly

"The only way to save you now is by Queen Regina!" David shouts and I snap back into reality and notice as David turns and a hopeful expression appears on Mia's face as she waits for me to join in, I smile before rushing ahead and pretending with them

"I am Queen Regina, don't worry Princess Mia I am here save you!" I shout laughing and I grab ahold of her and swing her into my arms and she giggles like crazy.

                          - David's POV -
After all the playing pretend we lose track of time and suddenly we are by the gate to our house. We walk up and inside before taking off our shoes and coats. Regina plops Mia down off of her hip and helps her take off her shoes and coat before standing up as Henry and Mia sit on the bottom step of the staircase. Mia has a sad expression on her face as the realisation that playtime is over and it's bedtime

"Do we have to go to bed" Henry moans and Regina crosses her arms

"Yes young man, it is very late and way past both of your bedtimes" she scolds and Henry groans looking at me desperately for a different answer

"You heard your mother, young man. It is way past your bedtime.....which means it wouldn't hurt having a quick movie night with popcorn?" I say pleadingly looking over at Regina with puppy dog eyes and Henry mimics the same.

Regina hesitates to give in but eventually she throws her arms out of the crossed position and picks up Mia from the step and onto her hip

"Finee" she says and Henry races upstairs excitedly as I go into the kitchen and begin to make some popcorn.

After a long time of eating chocolate, sweets and popcorn and watching the movie I peer over and notice as Regina is curled up asleep with Mia and Henry resting their heads on her chest. I smile in awe before I turn the movie off and slowly move the tray of goods away and onto the window seat.

Before I turn the lamp off and climb into bed next to them and Henry leans over and curls up to me and we all fall asleep in a big huddle.
