Alternate ending to Greys anatomy Season 14 episode 5

6 hours later

Still Nathans POV

I arrived at Meredith's house and texted her because I knew Zola Bailey and Ellis were probably still asleep 

"Hey I'm here" the text said 

"The door is unlocked, Ellis woke up I have to put her back to sleep. Meet me in my room?" She responded 

"OK" I simply responded. I opened the door and went up to her room.

A few minutes later she came in and shut the door behind her. 

"I'm so-"

 "I'm still in love with you" I said interrupting her 

"You what?!?"She asked me 

"You go first" i said 

"well what i was going to say was im sorry but now i dont know what to say." she said 

"OK my turn me a Megan talked and admitted that the only reason we got back together was because everyone was telling us to.BUT when we talked earlier we decided that we had both moved on in our own way. She was raising Farouk and has Owen. And well I have fallen in love with someone else...that someone is you by the way." I said with a mocking tone.

"and yet I still don't know what to say..." 

"well it could go one of three ways....one you love me back.....two  we could just be friend who raise a child together.. or three you decide you hate me and don't want me to raise this child with you and I'll leave..it all up to you..but I'd prefer number one." 

she let go of the breath she didn't realize she was holding and said "I guess we're having a baby then ,of course if I don't miscarry I mean i do still have a hostile uterus and--'

"Meredith don't talk like that we don't know what will happen but we will keep a close eye on you OK?"

"OK, well I'm working tomorrow so I'm going to go to bed, you can stay here if you want." she says to me 

"Yeah thanks." I say as I start to walk towards her bedroom door

"Nathan you can sleep in my bed with me, I mean its not like we haven't before" she says with a slight smile 

I slowly make my way to her bed we both lay not facing each other 

"Nathan?"she says quietly after laying there for a few minutes

"huh" I say as I turn around facing her 

"I do love you, you know that right?"she asks 

"I figured that out when you said were having a baby and then invited me to sleep in your bed" i says with a grin that probably makes me look like an idiot. 

She scoots closer to me, I wrap my hand around he waist and our hands intertwine.  We both drifted into sleep.
