Askel couldn't think straight, and the ongoing wave of people made his headache worse. He was tired, weak, but he had to keep going on. For Aria. He needed to make her strong.

"Askel, are you alright?" Aria asked, pulling an worried face. Such an ugly expression on a beautiful face, Askel thought silently to himself as he smiled at her, reassuring.

And then, suddenly, there were a high pitched ear splitting wail and screams of terror rang through the battle field. Asked looked up to see Ducias as his hand was pressed onto a button; his sick twisted smile towards the sky told Askel everything.

"Aria!" Askel's ragged voice shouted alarmed. Aria turned her head towards him and the look of inevitable fear on her face made his his heart drop.

There was nothing else he could do. Askel pulled Aria closer to him, shielding her away from the direction of the blast. Alarmed, Aria cried out, "Askel what-"

But then the deafening crack and whiteness stole her words as the battle field was blown to smithereens.
