Trapped

Li's P.O.V

I glared at the picture of him.

He was my childhood bestie.

And the one who played me.

People say, "Fool you once, shame on me. Fool you twice, shame on you." No. Okay? Just no. You're the one who gained my trust and acted against me. There's no shaming me when it's your actions.

Actaeon was the King of Traitors. If he was the king, then I am the Queen of Fools.

I was too loyal for my own good.

And now he had taken Charlie.

It wasn't my fault. It was either Charlie or my entire organization. One versus millions, right?

Still, I felt guilty for doing it. Pain racked my torso; I had taken quite some hits from Actaeon when we were fighting.

Over Charles.

Pfffft. I can't believe I said that.

This isn't a time for games, the dark whisper in my head was back.

I know, I closed my eyes, exhaustion weighing me down.

We have to get him back and end everything, Tamasa demanded. Yeah, I named the darkness in my head. Tamasa means a river, darkness. Kinda fitting, eh?

I know, I sighed out loud.

No chickening out again, Tamasa threatened.

I know, I won't. Not this time, my chest tightened at the thought of leaving my followers for my old friend.

We have to get Charlie now.

Charlie's P.O.V

I woke up like I had drunk last night.

Yeah, you don't need me to describe the feeling do you? Since every other story has the same description.

Dizziness, headache, feeling of wanting to throw up. The same old, same old.

But I didn't drink - I haven't ever since my party (when was that anyways?) because Li forbid it.

Did I get drugged by A- what's his name? Right, Arctic.

Who's that guy anyways? Saying he's Li's lover?

"Oh hello." Lookit that. Say his name and he shows up.

"Um hi. I would ask some questions but you probably won't answer me, would you?" I asked, doubtful.

"Smart of you. And yes, I won't answer any questions you ask." A flicker of a smile danced upon his lips.

"Why did you call Li your lover," I plowed on.

"Didn't I just say I won't answer questions?" Arctic raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"What is your relationship with her? Why did she come here? What was her objective? Did she want to see you?" I rattled on, ignoring his remarks.

Arctic sighed heavily. "No wonder Li was frustrated in protecting you. You really are annoying."

"That is my best trait," I puffed out my chest, grinning.

"You definitely are an interesting creature." Delight brightened up his red eyes. I shivered from the sight.

"I'm not sure if that's a good thing. You're not going to do anything to me right? Your goal is Li?" I mumbled weakly.

Both of his eyebrows shot up. "You, sir, are a selfish bastard. And don't call Li that. Only I can."
