“You stupid Connor…” I mumbled myself rubbing my neck as I made my way downstairs.
“And you just realized it?” Toby popped out of the kitchen.
“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes and walked over Toby.
“So tell me, what was the mumbling about?” He was sitting in front of me when I was boiling some water to make a soup.
“Nothing bro,”
“Eww, liar… Connor’s liar…”
“Shut up!” I whispered just because I didn’t want anybody hear that.
“Clock is ticking, young man.”
“I said something to Mimi that I don’t want her to know.”
“You’re the most complicated McDonough we’ve ever had in family Con…”
“That is why!” I whispered again to Toby. “This IS complicated and I don’t want her to know about this so don’t you ever talk to anyone!”
“What should I tell people when you even didn’t tell me yet your secrets?” He whispered back for I didn’t know what for.
“I told Mimi that she’s my baby and I felt so stupid because of that!”
“Haven’t you told her yet about it? Eww, too slow!”
“This is the only reason I don’t want to tell anyone about this.” I turned my back to Toby; realizing what a wonderful brother I got here.
“Con, hey!” Toby called me as I slowly turned around. “What I want to tell you is, me and Riley already read those signs you gave to Mimi from the day one. I’m just telling you, you’re the slowest boy I’ve ever met. If I were you, I already told her everything. She’s beautiful and perfect Con, don’t lose her!”
“You mean, I should tell her the truth?”
“That’s right my man, make a move!”
“But she’s a lifetime friend for me; I don’t want to ruin what we have today.”
“You won’t! Trust me!”
“Why should I trust you?”
“Because I have a perfect idea right here!” Toby pointed to his head and ran upstairs.
“TOBY MCDONOUGH!” I yelled but that’s all I got; he showed his thumbs and that’s it.
