ZEPHYR STEEL
" Who do you work for!" I looked down at the man-no he didn't deserve the word. He was barely human.
"I don't see how that information is worth much to you, you'll be dead in a few minutes anyways." I said a gun that he had tried to attack me with pointed down at this him. Peter Mars. Known drug lord, murder, rapist and one of America's most wanted. So bad that he was condemned to death. That's why I'm here. The under ground branch of the government. They call our association Death Row because once your on our list, you're dead and they call us executioners because we won't hesitate to finish the job.
We bag up the bad boys. Every government has us and we've been around for ever. No we aren't spies, we don't go undercover. We are assassins and we don't hide it. We just make it look a certain way. But we are the rabid wolves of the government. We make our own rules, and no one questions it.
"Please! I'll pay you double!" He pleased. I looked into his frightened blue eyes.
Disgust curled through me as I watched this pathetic excuse of a human beg for his life before me.
"I don't want your blood money!" I hissed. I clicked the safety off the gun as I pointed it in between his eyes.
"You don't want to do this!" I sighed and looked at him. Why is it that every time I'm about to kill them they go through this speech. I call it the cocky deadman speech.
"Really and why not?" I played along my voice flat. He smirked as if he had the upper hand.
"A little girl like your self don't want to get your hands dirty." He said. I just stared at him blankly.
"And why ever not? It's my favorite part." I said. I saw his eye twitch.
"We don't want you living your life in guilt now do we? A slave to your conscious?" He said. Whoop! There it is my favorite line.
I smirked holding the pistol at his mouth.
"You'd be surprised at how lenient my conscious really is." I said smirking. He opened his mouth to answer but I pulled the trigger blowing it right through his mouth.
"Dumbass." I muttered as I bent down and from my gloved hand I placed the gun in his hand and let it clatter beside him. Making it look like a suicide.
I pulled the sleeve of my jacket back to see my watch that read12:09 am. God damn the jack ass talked too much.
Yawning I walked over to the window and slipped out shutting it behind me. I walked back to the side walk when my phone vibrated in my back pocket. I pulled it out and answer.
"Yes?" I asked on a bored tone.
"Agent steel have you completed your assignment?" A professional voice spoke through the speaker.
"Affirmative." I answered turning the curb.
"Which way is it this time? Break-in or suicide? " she asked.
"Suicide." I said.
"Ok the boss has a new assignment, agent Steel do you accept?"
"Affirmative."
"We will contact you when needed. Stand by for debriefing."
"Affirmative." I repeat then hang up. I look around once then finally enter my home. It's too late for work. I do have work tomorrow.
