Luna was in a good place in her life. She finally found what she wanted to do in life. She doubted herself for a while when she found out that she was Sol Benson but now she has her life back on track. She's got a job she loves and she has an amazing boyfriend. It took her a while to find this happiness but she's happy now and that's really all that matters.
There was a fundraiser gala coming up to come up with the money to organize the next skating competition. She always loved participating in those but she knew she wouldn't get money out of it so she decided to work at a company where they organize all kinds of skating competitions in Buenos Aires. Of course, whenever she had time, she skated at her favorite skating rink. At least, one thing hasn't changed in her life and that was her passion for skating. She never lost it, not even when the truth came to light. In fact it was the only thing she could count on in that time of her life. She knew that she would never lose her passion, no matter what happened.
Her boss insisted on taking her boyfriend to the gala, she hesitated at first but in the end she decided to ask him. He was happy to agree on going with her. She was a little nervous because she never introduced him to any of her co-workers. She hoped that tonight will go smoothly.
She had to buy a dress for the occasion which wasn't simple because she's not the type that likes to go to those kinds of events weekly. But her boyfriend Matteo went to a lot of gala's when he was younger so he helped her choose the perfect dress. She was happy that he helped because she would've never found anything without him.
He didn't need any help getting dressed because he was such an expert in these kinds of things. She thanked the stars that he was the one she fell in love with a couple of months ago.
It was funny how they started off, she didn't like him at first because he seemed such a snob but then she got to know him and she was already head over heels for him. They bonded over common interests and that was a change for her. A change she really needed.
He picked her up an hour before the event started because she had to be there early to make sure everything was in order. She suggested he'd come later but he insisted on helping her with the last things.
His help was apparently necessary because they finished everything right before the first guests arrived.
At the beginning of the event, she had to make sure everything was on schedule and Matteo helped where it was needed. She's so lucky to have such an amazing boyfriend by her side, she thought by herself.
They both took a glass of wine when the event seemed to be going perfectly. They rested at one of the tables. "Thank you for everything that you did here." Luna said with a sincere voice.
"I'm always here to help my girl." He answered her with a smile.
"You were right, your help was really needed tonight." She hated to admit he was right but she couldn't avoid the truth this time.
"Did I hear it good? Did you just admit I was right? I don't believe it." He teased her like he usually does.
"Fine, yes, I did." They were both laughing because of their teasing.
Their laughter was interrupted when her boss approached her. Matteo had just left to get new drinks.
"Hello, miss Valente. The event seems great. Thanks for doing this." her boss said with a sincere smile. "So did you bring your boyfriend? I would love to meet him."
"Yeah, he's just getting us drinks right now. He'll be here in a second." She answered as politely as possible.
At that moment, her boyfriend came to their table. When he saw who I was talking with, he dropped the glasses he was holding and the smile disappeared from his face and a look of shock replaced it. "Dad." Was all he could say.
"Matteo, what are you doing here?" mister Balsano answered.
Luna had a look of shock on her face as well. This isn't possible. Matteo is my boss's son? She was definitely shocked by the news.
"Wait, hold on. Are you Luna's boyfriend?" her boss asked.
"Yes, that's me. How do you know Luna?" Matteo asked him right back.
"I'm her boss." He stated firmly.
Luna was confused. Those two knew each other but at the same time they looked like complete strangers to each other.
"What's going on?" she finally let out.
They turned around to look at her at the same time and Luna looked back at Matteo with a face that says she demanded answers.
"Your boss is my father, Luna."
"Wait, I don't get it... How come I just find out now?" he looked back and forth between the two guys that were standing in front of her.
"We haven't talked in a while." Then, it suddenly hits her. Matteo had talked about how he hasn't talked to his father in years because he didn't support the career he wanted to follow. Mister Balsano also told her that he hasn't talked to his son for years and that he regrets everything that happened between them but he hadn't worked up the courage to call him yet. How come she didn't realize this earlier? She wondered. She should have known, shouldn't she?
Then, she comes up with an idea. "I think you guys need to catch up. I'll be over there if you need him." She quickly walked away before anyone could stop her. She so hoped they would finally talk. She watched everything that went down between them from a distance. They left the room after a few minutes. She was desperately looking for the two but she couldn't find them anywhere. She was starting to get worried. But then someone touches her shoulder and she jumped a little at this cold touch. When she turned around, she saw a smiling Matteo.
"What happened?" she was too curious to wait for him to say something.
"We had a serious talk and we talked everything out." He said, his smile growing on his face in the meantime. "Thank you for doing that, Luna. You're the best." He admitted shyly.
"I'm glad everything worked out." She told him, smiling back.
"Maybe we should head home where I can thank you a thousand times more." He suggested with a smirk on his face.
She smirked back at him: "Sounds like a great idea." She took his hand and led him to the exit.
On their way to the parking lot, they said their goodbyes to everyone, including Matteo's father.
When they were alone she finally said what she wanted to say all night: "uhoh I'm dating my boss' child and had no idea until I took them as my date to a work function."
Matteo laughed at the delayed reaction. How he loved this girl so much, he thought by himself. He took her by her waist and turned her around so that they were facing each other and before realizing what was happening, he put his lips on hers and gave her the first of the many thank yous he was going to give her that night.
