Chapter Two: Midnight...

"She likes to be called (Y/N), she lived in Australia for a few years but was born in Egypt," Sherlock cuts in before (Y/N) could answer. She looks down at her lap and starts playing with her fingers as a nervous habit that she picked up over the past few years.

"John, I repeat again this is not the time for pleasantries. Three black victims stabbed with no evidence- there is no point talking when something fun is happening." (I hope this doesn't sound like Sherlock is approving this. He doesn't approve shit like this, it's just he like mysteries)

Sherlock says happily,"The game is on(Y/N)."

Sherlock approaches the yellow police tape. A female detective rolls her eyes when she got a glimpse, Sherlock. He comes to a halt in front of her. (Y/N) could tell that they clearly know each other.

"Who's this? Is it the freak's new friend," The female detective says the moment she sees (Y/N). A taller white male looks at (Y/N) and looks so confused.

The male says, "Sherlock, who is this? She can't get into the crime scene." Sherlock just sighs wishing that he didn't have to explain to every idiot that he knows.

"She is my new assistant," Sherlock simply explains and continues to walk into the house. (Y/N) follows him not saying a single word.

The female detective says, "Assistant! How did you get her to be your assistant? She felt very uncomfortable because they keeping staring at her like an amusement park.

The female detective says, "Did Sherlock finally get tired of you, Watson?" Watson didn't respond probably because he somehow feels that it is true. (Y/N) dresses up in the plastic nonsense that they gave her so she doesn't contaminate the scene and puts on the plastic gloves.

The moment they open the door to the crime scene makes (Y/N) stare. (Y/N) sharply inhaled her breath when she saw the female victim and the victim's blood everywhere. She could see the dried tears stained on the woman's face. Anyone could see that the victim resisted.

(Y/N) wanted to look away but it was like she couldn't. To know that someone kills people for looking different really hurts her inside because she is considered different. Sherlock moves around the crime scene and touches things with gloves. (Y/N) grabs the hand of the female victim and inspects the victim's nails.

They look recently cleaned which might mean that the murderer cleaned her nails after he killed her to be safe and that the police have no blood or skin samples of him. An average person wouldn't of know to do that or would think about blood or skin under nails of fighting victim. (Y/N) makes a small note in her head to watch people who work with the police or who would have the knowledge to do that. She writes down her findings in a small notebook.

(Y/N) says, "The victim is a young lady by the looks of her nails she gets them professionally done at a nail salon. In good nail salons, the nails aren't cut this way and are usually shaped and not crooked. The murderer must have cut the nails because the victim most likely scratched the murderer which would have the D.N.A of the murderer. The murderer would have had prior knowledge about how D.N.A is found at a crime scene." (I don't know if this is making any sense, if it doesn't I'm sorry.)

"That's the reason why Sherlock picked her," The female detective says with a slight smile to her face. This job of hers is quite male-dominated seeing a female in this profession. She might act like a bitch most times because of Sherlock but she will support females in this profession as much as possible.

Sherlock moves back to the victim and looks at her more like observe her. Sherlock says, "Yes, the murderer must have had some knowledge of D.N.A." Watson talks the forensics team there and asks questions about the crime scene. (Y/N) knew that she wasn't going to forget this day, she wasn't going to forget the sight of the black female victim with blood stained on her clothing and dried tears on her face. Little did she know someone intently watches her stare at the dead body.

(Y/N)'s eyes snap open as she recalls her terrible and appalling nightmare she just had. The hard pounding of her heart beneath her rib cages and cold sweat covers her body. (Y/N) sits up clutching her chest as if it would slow down if she did. She needed to get used to seeing dead bodies because this was now her job. She knew what this job entailed and she thought that she mentally prepared herself but she knows that it didn't work.

How do Sherlock and John sleep after seeing people die like that? How did they gain the tolerance to seeing dead bodies that make you want to throw up in your mouth?

(Y/N) knew the only thing she could do is forget about it. Detach her feelings from her when she is on the job and be prepared to deal with this. She could do this and she knew it. (Y/N) wanted to challenge herself of being and doing this job will challenge her to the breaking point for any human being. She didn't know that more than sleepless nights will be in her life but maybe love too.

(Y/N) opens the door and Sherlock hastily walks into the apartment. She didn't expect him to be here and especially at this time. His eyes dart around my apartment like he was searching for something. (Y/N) hopes he doesn't notice her dressed in a tank top and boy shorts. She didn't know why she opened the door dressed like that, how could she forget to put some pants on. Sherlock says, "Get dressed, we're going."

(Y/N)should have expected this, John Watson did tell her that Sherlock can be quite eccentric and surprising. She blinks again and realises what he asks. (Y/N) stares at him baffled from what's his asking. (Y/N) says with a slightly pissed off tone, "You couldn't just call or text. I'm not exactly decent for anyone to see me."

(Y/N) rushes to her room and puts on an outfit. (Y/N) picks up the notebook from her dresser and puts it into her pocket. She grabs her phone from the side-table and walks out to see Sherlock walking around the living room.

Sherlock stares at her and he has never seen the people who he talks to, dress like that. Molly is one of the only women he talks to and she doesn't dress like that. It's quite understandable since she is just 23 years old. (Y/N) grabs a granola bar to eat on the go Sherlock walks outside with (Y/N) following him. Sherlock hails down a cab and they both enter it.

(Y/N) didn't know where they're going, but by Sherlock's attitude, it's because of the case. The thick silence between them makes her nerves shake. (Y/N) wants a good working relationship with Sherlock and getting comfortable together. Sherlock taps at his phone and says, "Okay, you've got questions!"

(Y/N) asks, "Where are we going?"

"Crime scene - next," Sherlock says while still tapping on his phone. (Y/N) already assumed this but it never hurts to ask does it?

(Y/N) says, "How did you meet John Watson? It looks like you been friends for years."

"John Watson and I met when he came back from the army and needed a place to stay at," Sherlock says. "John needed the thrill and excitement in his life and I gave it to him." (Y/N) intently listens to Sherlock. Sherlock seems like he has trouble becoming close to someone or maybe he doesn't want to be close to anyone.
