Baby girls

For the 3 girls, it seemed like the world stopped. The only sound making it's way to their ears was the loud cries of their new family member.
"It's a girl" said the doctor showing them the tiny human.

But Alex barely had the time to take a moment to breathe. The other baby was coming.

"Awesome Ally." Maggie whispered in Alex's ear, tears streaming down her face.

"You're so strong Alex." Kara said.

Alex pushed and pushed but nothing happened.

"Something's wrong." She said, starting to panic a little bit. She knew something wasn't right.

The doctor asked his assistant to check on the baby's heartbeat, but they couldn't hear anything. The baby's heart had stopped.

"Okay Alex, the baby's heart is very week. You're gonna have to push really hard right now. We have to get this baby out as quickly as possible okay?"

15 min later

The second little girl was finally out, but unlike the first one, she wasn't crying. The doctors ran to give her the care she needed.

One of them came to talk to the mothers and brought them one of their little girls.
Alex took her in her arms.
The 3 women cried.
Another doctor came to the mothers.

"I'm really sorry to tell you this, but we did everything we could." She looked at the mothers and continued.

"We couldn't get her heart to beat again."

This was supposed to be the best day of their lifes but it also turned out to be one of the worst.

"Would you like to see her?" The doctor asked.
Alex and Maggie nodded. They gently placed the small body in Alex's arm right beside the other little girl.
