"What do you mean he's my mate?! He can't be my mate!" Rossalynn said, her face twisted in horror and desperation. River stood quiet yet protective at her side. Weylin leaned against the doorway his eyes unreadable, his expression that of complete indifference. His beta Ian stood behind him, a worried look on his face as he took in the situation. “Rossalynn! You should have seen this coming! You are of rare blood, it would only make sense for you to be an Alpha’s mate, this behavior is disgraceful!” Rossalynn stared at Lyndan in outrage, her brothers and sisters took it all in cautiously. As the second oldest she was supposed to be the second to find her mate, not the first, and not a year before her 17th birthday. It was completely unfair, a cruel form of punishment from Luna, the mother of all wolves, the moon goddess. Rossalynn had a plan, she was going to run away with her best friend River so they could join their boyfriends in the rogue pack. She was going to take Ivy away from this place and her and Jules would make a family. Everyone knew that her own boyfriend, Jules, was extremely possessive of her, he’d nearly killed her brother Nash’s best friend simply for sitting next to her on the couch. Rossalynn took a deep breath, readying herself for the words she knew would forever separate her from her family. “Rossalynn!” her brother Zale snapped giving her a look, he was oldest, he knew her plan’s, and he knew she wouldn’t accept this. Weylin seemed to sense the tension suddenly in the room and he stood straight “Don’t bother, he’s an alpha Rossalynn, a royal blooded alpha, you're not getting out of this honey.” her father whispered giving her a sad look. She loathed the pity in his eyes, hated the smug yet hateful gleam in  Lyndan’s. Fine. she thought to herself. One last dig, i’m going out with a bang. she turned and met Lynden's gaze head on. “I know, that you're not my mother, or Zale’s, that you killed her. Does it hurt? Knowing that no matter how hard you fight, or how many kids you have with my father, you’ll never be anything more than a Omega-whore to the pack?”Rossalynn smirked. In the wake of the silence that fell over the room she turned and stomped out of the house. With River close behind her.
