Rossalynn stared nervously at the pack house for the rouges. "He's not going to like this." River whispered. "You heard Zale on the phone River, he said that Weylin's territory is one of the old one's, an original territory, which means they'll have the books and resources that will tell me how to reject him as a mate and link myself to Jules. It's what i have to do if i want to be with him. Now, come on." She sounded braver than she felt. It was true, Jules would probably bust a vein if before she even got half the story out. The door swung open before she'd even reached the steps, Ivy came bounding out with Jules on her heels. "Ross! We went shopping! Look Jules bought me a dress! Isn't it sooo pretty?" Ivy did a twirl and Rossalynn smiled. The knee-length red-velvet dress did indeed look pretty on her. Her fair skin and jet-black hair standing out in sharp contrast. "You look like a princess Ivy!" she replied swooping her into her arms and giving her a few twirls. Ivy squealed in delight "Ross." River whispered staring up at where Jules stood, his best friend and Beta, Mark, stood at his side. "He can't have you." Jules growled. Rossalynn set Ivy down and started up the steps hand-in-hand with her, River followed close behind. "And he won't." she replied when she reached the top of the steps. "Damn right he won't" Mark piped up pulling River into his arms and giving her a very passionate kiss. "I'm serious Jules, i won't let him near me. It's just...he's an Alpha, a royal, i can't reject him. But Zale says that he's settled in one of the original territory's and if i can get access to the old text i could find a way to linc us and reject him permanently. It would only be a month, maybe two, and Zale will be right by my side." Rossalynn said quickly when he began to growl. "No." he said leaning down and picking up Ivy who grinned at him. "Jules i have too." she followed him into the house leaving River and Mark out on the front steps, locked in an embrace. "No Ross, you might be able to stay away from him, but there's no way he'll stay away from you. I don't want you to go, stay here with me, he can't force you if you refuse." Jules begged as he stepped into his room, there room. Ivy squirmed out of his arms, dropped to the floor in a crouch, then popped back up and scurried to the bed that was covered in bags. She began to pull out outfit after outfit and hang them up in the closet, she did it slowly, stroking the fabric of each dress lovingly. The two watched her in silence for a few minutes. Finally Rossalynn stepped forward and placed her hand on Jules's face, he leaned into it, closing his eyes. "You can trust me, i'll have Zale, you know he'd never let anything happen, and... i planned on taking Ivy." Jules eyes popped open and his panic was clear to see. "No!" he said reaching forward and gripping her arm. "She's ours Rossalynn, mine, my pup, you can't take her away! You can't leave me!" he said, his eyes widen and his pupils dilated. "Jules! Jules, calm down! We're not leaving you, we're not. But you know if i go without Ivy, Nash will come for her, Lynden's been waiting to get rid of her and he'd come to do it, to eliminate her. You wouldn't be able to stop her either, she belongs to my pack. Please, we'll call and video chat every night, we have to do this Jules, it's the only way." Rossalynn whispered. He was calm by the time she'd finished, they both looked over to Ivy who stood in the middle of the room, her gaze curious and wary. "Do i have to go away? Do you not want me anymore?" she asked clutching at a blue dress with ivy-green vines swirling around the edges. How fitting. Rossalynn thought to herself before answering "No Ivy. We want you with all our hearts, but me and you, we need to go somewhere, just for awhile." Rossalynn told her. Jules grip on Ross tightened and he buried his face in the crook of her neck.

"Don't forget to put your coat on before you get off the plane, weather report said it would be chilly. And don't forget that Mark said he would call when he got settled in the town with River, and don't forget that-" Jules was cut off when Zale's black Ford F-250 pulled into the lot with a beep of his horn. "We won't forget anything Jules, stop worrying. We'll call the minute we get settled in, we'll keep in contact with Mark so we know when he's settled into the town. We'll remember to put on our coats before we get off the plain, and we'll remember exactly how mother-hen like you look today so we can blackmail you with it when we get back." Rossalynn replied with a wink as she lead Ivy down the steps. Jules huffed and went quiet, dragging their bags to the back of the truck where Zale was waiting. "Jules." Zale nodded politely in greeting. "Zale, if anyone so much as looks at her wrong i hold you accountable. And if Ivy comes back with even a strand of hair out of place i'll castrate you." Jules glared at Zale who nodded without complaint. He was used to Jules overbearing protectiveness. He knew the story behind it, Jules lost his entire family when his mother tried to run-off with her true mate, who'd turned around and slaughtered his father and three sister simply because he didn't want her to change her mind later down the road. From what Rossalynn had told him it left Jules with a fierce protective and possessive streak, he always had to make sure people knew that what was his was not to be touched, and from his lingering scent coming off of Ivy and Rossalynn his streak still ran strong. Zale gave Jules a pat on the shoulder then turned and slipped into the drivers seat of his truck, allowing the three a final goodbye. Rossalynn held Ivy in her arms and Jules pulled them into him "I love you, both of you, more than life. If anything happens, if anything goes wrong, i'll be there in a second." he pulled back and took Ivy's face in his hands, looking her in the eye "Keep Ross safe okay Ivy? Remember what we talked about yesterday." he said cryptically before releasing her and leaning forward to kiss Rossalynn. Ivy giggled "Ewwww" she said. Jules laughed and placed kisses all over Ivy's face as well making her squeal and wiggle in Rossalynn's arms. The three of them laughed, sharing a small moment of happiness. Zale rolled down the window of the truck "Ross, Ivy, We gotta go. River just text, Weylin and Ian are at the house and Lynden's trying to sink her claws in, trying to convince him to take Nash 'Just in case' " he sneered. Jules growled "My offer still stands Zale, i can make you Alpha of a new pack, the Rogues council understands your predicament. You shouldn't have to constantly look over your shoulder like this, neither of you should, it's not right." he said clutching at Rossalynn. "Maybe not, but when the time comes for me to take over my fathers pack, it will only make it that much sweeter when i exile Nash and his disgrace of a mother, or maybe i'll keep them around, send them back to the Omega spot they came from." Zale chuckled darkly before sliding on his sun-glasses and rolling up the window. "He scares me sometimes, he's gotten so set on revenge that it's changing him, it's getting harder and harder to tell the difference between my Zale and her Zale, the one she's created." she whispered to Jules worriedly. "Maybe the time away will help him." Jules said quietly, he didn't want to think of this trip as good, he'd seen the effects a mate bond could have on a woman, even one who had a family and husband already. He was taking a risk, hoping that Ross's love for him was stronger than the bonds of a mate. He gave Ross and Ivy kisses, helped them into the truck, and watched in silent agony as they drove away, the feeling of loss and heartache growing with the distance.
