He didn’t care at all for this party, but since it was hosted by the Alpha of the territory he was required to attend. And since the female Alpha seemed to be a devious leech, he had to stay till the end. Which is why he now found himself sitting in the Alpha’s office, listening to him discuss the tension between some of the east coast packs with Ian, Weylin’s beta. There was a light knock on the door and in stumbled the Alpha female Lyndan, she looked as if she was trying to slide across the room, but instead was having a minor seizure. The Alpha grimaced and it looked as if Ian was smothering a laugh. “Gentle men, why don’t you join us in the foyer, hmm? I’m sure you would like to finally be acquainted with our family, yes?” her accent was fake, mimicking that of the stereotypical New Yorker. Ian stood immediately, followed by the Alpha. Weylin remained sitting, meeting Lyndan’s gaze “I actually had no interest in meeting anyone other than the Alpha.” he said quietly. “Ignore him, he’s very anti-social most of the time.” Ian said quickly into the silence. Weylin glared at him, he was not anti-social in the least, he just disliked most all people. “ We’d love to meet your family Alpha Lyndan, Alpha Marcaius” Ian assured the couple. He was a polite and sociable wolf, always getting along with those Weylin constantly offended.
Lyndan’s clutch on Weylin’s arm as she pulled him into the large parlor was irritating and stifling. She reeked of human perfume, almost as if she’d poured the whole bottle over herself. And there was no mistaking the smell of an Omega mixed into her scent, making it obvious she was not Alpha Marcaius’s real mate. Her lip’s were smothered in clumpy red lipstick and her breath reeked of too much mint and wine. “Alpha Weylin, these are my daughters Brit and Trish, and my son Nash” she waved her hand as if she were a game-show hostess showing of the major prize. Ian smiled working his charm on the two young girl and shaking the boys hand. They all looked to Weylin and he instantly recognized the same hungry gleam in their eyes that practically poured off of Alpha Lyndan. The boy, Nash, grinned widely “So you're the legendary Prince Weylin? I’ve got to say your presence in the city is really aggravating most of the other wolves, it seems every female wolf around has been plotting on how to become your mate. Except for my sister and River of course, i think i heard her say something about-” Lyndan cut of Nash quickly with a fake laugh, the sound grated on Weylin’s nearly non-existent nerves. “Honey, Weylin doesn’t want to hear about Rossalynn! Stop being ridiculous! Now, why don’t we all go to the kitchen for some more wine and talk?” she gushed before dragging Weylin away once again.
As soon as he entered the kitchen he felt it, his wolf had found his mate. He came to a halt in the middle of the kitchen and heard her growl, it was not what he’d expected. The tight mid-thigh black dress with bright red leather pants and three inch heels she had on would put her roughly at 5ft 9inches if he stood tall, her blond hair fell to her waist, the ends splayed on the counter she sat on. Her head whipped up and her piercing red and silver eyes met his, letting him know she was a true alpha’s daughter. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. He thought to himself. “Oh, my” Lynden muttered at his side. “There is no way in hell.” his mate growled, her voice was quiet, deadly, husky, and it was bringing his body to full attention.
