"Wanna walk a little with me?" he asked quietly.
Tora did not know why, but she was smiling at his words and softly nodding. "I'd like that," she told the stranger for some reason and stood up from the couch she was sitting on with the rest of the pack. "OOoooooooh, I get it!" Hoseok suddenly exclaimed, but nobody paid him attention, all eyes were focused on Tora and Bambam. The boy now stepped out again, leaning against the door, his eyes scanning the forest with interest. "I like your forest, our pack's forest does not have that many trees and birds" he stopped to listen to the birds for a second.
"They are annoying in the mornings. Always wake me up from my beauty sleep" Tora jokes, closing the door behind her and looking at the trees as well. Bambam shakes his head. "As if you'd need that, Tora" he muttered and then he started walking. Tora had to jog after him to catch up. "Wait! Why are you running? Nothing is chasing us and I think this is the only acceptable reason to run, like ever." Bambam chuckled softly, the sound making Tora's heart skip a beat. Strange.
"Okay, so if I may ask. Why did you come all the way here to take a walk with me?" the girl asked after some time of just walking side by side. His hands sometimes brushed against hers and somehow she wanted to reach out and take it. This feeling was completely foreign to her, it was warm and fuzzy, but it couldn't be love, she knew him a total of fifteen minutes now. "How much do you know about werewolves, Tora?" he did not answer her question, but now posed his own. "A great deal, but I was still not able to transform, so this is all still very hypothetical for me. I can growl and howl, though" she declared proudly.
"Oh really?" Bambam's eyes widened in shock upon hearing that. "You don't know what your wolf looks like? Never transformed?" Tora shook her head in silence, not realizing the boy walking next to her had stopped walking. She took a couple more steps, before turning around in confusion. "Why'd you stop?" she asked the boy in confusion, furrowing her brows. "I'll help you!" he declared with a smile. Tora cocked her head to the side in confusion. "Help me with what?" Bambam rolled his eyes. "With your transformation. I am a pro, you must understand."
"How will you do that? Iseul did not manage to do that" she mumbled but came closer to the boy, she was intrigued. "First, we will find a clearing" he instructed and took her hand in his, dragging her through the forest. "I have seen a nice one on the way here." A small spark of electricity made her jolt in surprise, but she willed herself not to let go. Tora just nodded, following the boy like a stupid little duckling. Soon they reached a clearing in the forest that almost resembled a perfect circle.
"I had no idea this was here" she mumbled, drinking in the sight before her. "You always walk straight to the cabin I suppose, never look around" the boy spoke quietly and Tora nodded. "I would get lost otherwise" she explained, shrugging her shoulders. "Because you don't have our sense of smell, it comes with your first transformation. You would never get lost again, Tora. The scents of your pack would always lead you right back home." Tora nodded, avoiding his gaze, that was trained on her. She could feel it almost burn a hole in her face.
"Teach me then, please" she almost whispered and Bambam nodded. He placed his hands gently on her shoulders and moved her to the middle of the clearing, Tora stumbled backward in surprise. Bambam suddenly looked so serious, it took her off guard. Before, he was always smiling at her. "Okay Tora, close your eyes now and relax your mind and body." Tora complied, startled. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply. She felt Bambam's hands leave her shoulders and heard his soft footsteps walk around her, stopping behind her. "Let go of every thought, just listen to the nature around you. Here it calling for you."
The birds suddenly seemed infinitely louder and their songs more urgent. She could hear little animals running through the underbrush, the leaves rustling in the wind. "Can you hear it, Tora?" She nodded slightly, engrossed in her enhanced hearing and all the noises that revealed themselves to her. "Answer it" he whispered from behind her and Tora shivered at the sound. "I don't know how" she whimpered. "Your wolf knows how. Let her take over" his soft voice droned on. "Can you feel it? Right here, she's howling for you" suddenly she felt his chest against her back, one warm hand pressed gently against her chest, right above her heart.
"She wants to answer it so badly, Tora. Nature is calling for her, let her break free and walk freely. Nature is calling, my heart is calling out to her." Suddenly big tremors ran through the girl and a hot pain flared through her chest. She gasped for air, her eyes flying open, a startling and piercing grey replaced her brown ones. Bambam quickly brought some distance between her and him. Tora fell to the ground in pain, groaning, and growling, while her back arched. All her bones in her body broke and realigned themselves, her skin sprouting black fur. When Tora came to her senses again, she stumbled back in surprise to see her black paws. Holy shit! She screamed in her mind, looking around for Bambam.
She could not find the boy, but a sandy brown wolf emerged from one of the trees. His startling blue eyes fixed on her, nothing but warmth radiating out of them. I did it! Tora screamed at him, but only a little bark left her mouth. Bambam barked back when he was next to her, his tail wagging wildly. Tora just stared at him for a few moments, the unexplainable feeling from before just tripled in intensity. She recognized him as the wolf that licked her cheeks in the past. Just like then, suddenly a warm tongue caressed her right ear and cheek.
Mate.
