<Side's POV>

"Side, your trial is tomorrow. We can't simply cancel it cause you want to fly to Peru." Stephanie reasoned with me.

"But...G's gemstone..." I mutter.

"We can get it another time.." G grumbled.

He was really insistent we were not to disturb his brother.

But I still managed to convince him to get it back.

"At least you can return home first." Speedy also joined in the conversation.

It had been almost a week since I first set foot in LA, and all these problems seemed to be worsening.

"Sammi and I are going back to the house to grab your stuff. So Stephanie, watch him. He's not supposed to leave." Speedy tells Stephanie.

My dad had returned home yesterday, as he had told me had other things to settle.

So I was sitting in the living room with Stephanie and G18 as Speedy and Sammi left with the dogs.

We were all reading a book.

Mine is...not a book actually. It's a Marvel comicbook.

G18 is still reading the gemstone book.

I had shown him the page that described him best. And indeed, it was his gemstone. On his brother's sceptre.

He didn't want to talk about his family, so I didn't pry.

Stephanie was rereading my case file, saying that she'll be able to cover all the loopholes the other party had to make my trial difficult.

It was a private supernatural trial, so I had no idea what to expect.

The only experience I had with trials were from the game 'Ace Attorney'.

Stephanie reassured me that she would handle everything, but I still couldn't help but worry.

I was going as Diellza, walking on two legs.

G was my witness and he was going in his Wolven form.

There were so many ways that this could go wrong and I was not looking forward to it.

I flop on the couch, feeling the strain of my MateBond with Speedy.

He lived in the larger houses at the other end of the neighbourhood, I shouldn't feel too much of a strain.

But still I did. And it was really uncomfortable.

How much would it hurt for me to travel back home?

I stayed human, for it was when the bond was least painful, but it was still there.

I couldn't focus, nor could I do anything.

Playing with G in the back yard will be distracting and even more painful since I would be in wolf form to play.

In human form, I can't focus.

So what can I do?

After an hour, Stephanie put down the case file.

"Side. If you're uncomfortable you can go take a shower. Sitting there isn't going to help you." She told me kindly.

I nodded, getting up from the couch.

"The spare clothes are in the guest wardrobe." Stephanie got up from her seat as well.

"I'm going to cook something again..." She shuffled to the kitchen in a pair of house slippers.
