Chapter 35

Juvia's POV...

Gray has been out of himself lately. Whenever I talk to him, it's like he's not listening. He's always thinking of something else. I would ask him if he has a problem but would only answer me a no. He's even going home late, again. What's going on with him? I'm currently waiting for him here in the living room. It's already 1:00 a.m but he's still not home. I sighed. I was about to go upstairs when I heard his car beeped. He's home. I opened the door for him to come in.

"You're still awake. You should've slept already." Gray said.

"I was waiting for you." Juvia said.

"No need to do that, Juvia. You're pregnant. You should be taking care of yourself." Gray said.

"Nah, I'm fine. Anyways, how are you?" I asked.

We were walking upstairs and talking.

"I'm okay." He said.

We then went inside our room. He went inside the bathroom to change his clothes. I wonder what's bothering him lately. When he was done, he lay down beside me. I was expecting him to say his goodnight to me but when I looked at him, he's already sleeping. I sighed.

The next day....

I woke up earlier without Gray beside me. I even looked for him downstairs but the maids told me he was already in the office. I checked the time and it was still early. He's been going out of the house so early then coming him so late. Is he that busy? I sighed.

Gray's POV...

"Good morning, Gray." She said and kissed my cheek.

"Good morning." I said and smiled.

I'm still looking at her when memories flashed back in my mind. I've been with her for since the day I found out that she's back.

Flashback...

When I found out that she's back, I asked Natsu where she's staying in. I was in front of her door, my hands still shaking. It's been years since I last seen her. I then knocked on her door. It took a few moments when the door opened. Her eyes widened when she saw me. I was even stunned for a moment when I saw her. I noticed her hair was now longer...but she's still the girl I loved.

"G-gray...how d-did you...?" She asked.

"It's not important anymore what's important to me is that you're finally back...Why didn't you tell me you're coming back?" I asked.

"You don't need to know. We're done, right? I don't have to inform you anything." She said and was about to close the door when I stopped her.

"Can we please just talk for awhile?" I asked.

"We have nothing to talk about, Gray. Just leave me alone." She said.

"I can't and I won't...please..." I begged.

"Okay fine." She said and sighed.

I went in her apartment and sat down on the couch. She sat down on a couch across me.

"So...what do you wanted to talk about?" She asked.

"Why did you suddenly left me?" I asked.

She looked at me for a moment then she looked away.

"Because it was the right thing to do." She said.

"How did you say it was the right thing to do?! You left me broken! You didn't know how much it hurt me." I said.

"It was the right thing to do because you're becoming so violent! You're losing control of yourself when you're mad that you started to harm other people because of me!" She said.

"I love you that's why I became like that!" I said.

"No! That's not it! You're letting your problem to tranform you into a beast! Our relationship was toxic so I had to put an end to it." She said.

"You know you're the only one who can tame me right? But you suddenly left me." I said.

"I never had the chance to tame you Gray. It was just because I did not do anything bad to you that's why." She said.

"It's not too late for us to get back together, right?" I asked.

"Are you out of your mind?! You're already married then you'll ask something like that?!" She said.

"I don't care if I'm married! I can leave her for you if that's what you want." I said.

"But Gray...you're going to break her soul if you do that..." She said.

"Do you still love me?" I asked.

"What are you talking about?" She asked back.

"Just answer the damn question! Do you still love me?" I asked.

"Y-yes...I still love you." She said then looked down.

"And I still love you, you know? Then it's settled." I said.

"But Gray...what about your wife?" She asked.

"Don't worry about her. Just leave it all to me." I said.

End of Flashback...

"Gray, are you listening?"

I snapped back to reality when she shaked my arm gently.

"Uh...sorry what was that again?" I asked.

"I was talking about where you wanted to eat our lunch. You're spacing out again. Are you alright?" She asked.

"I'm fine. Just thinking about the company." I said

"Oh okay." She said then smiled.

Juvia doesn't know about this of course. She doesn't have to know. I'll just find the right moment to say this to her. Maybe when she already give birth to our baby. I sighed. I heard my phone rang so I decided to answer the call.

"Hello, dad."

[After hurting your wife, you cheated.]

"Why do you even care?"

[You're really becoming like me, what I was before, huh? I tell you Gray, this will not do any good to you. You're just going to make things worse.]

"Just shut up if you have nothing good to say."

[You're really forcing me to do it. I'm telling you, you're going to regret every single moment you hurt your wife. You will regret hurting her.]

"That's not going to happen."

[It will, Gray. You better leave your mistress now or else...]

"Or else what?"

Then the call suddenly ended. I don't know but I suddenly felt nervous when the call ended. What is he up to?

"Gray, are you alright?" She asked.

"I'm fine Ul. I just had a bad convo with my dad." I said.

"Don't think about it anymore." Ul said then smiled.

I can't stop thinking about it. I want to know what he is up to. I need to find out.
