Trigger Warning ⚠️: perverted men and violence.

We finally arrived at Angie's house and walked into the doors. The house was decorated in a bunch of Halloween decor. Everything was either orange, green, or black. And the lights were just the same.

Sam pulled me with her to the kitchen to get me a water.

"I know you don't drink alcohol. Also, don't put your drink down anywhere because sometimes people are scumbags," she signed and I nodded.

She stood on her tippy toes as if trying to find someone, and that's when I realized she was looking at Tommy. More specifically Tommy talking to a hooded stranger.

I recognized that hoodie. I've seen this man before. This is the same man who prevented me from being raped.

"I don't think that man goes to our school. Does he know someone here," Sam questioned after getting my attention.

I shook my head, put my water bottle down and grabbed Sam's arm and dragged her with me to the two men.

"Hey squirt," Tommy said to me. This caught the attention of the hooded man.

The man turned to look at us and to say I was shocked at who the man was, was not enough to explain what I was thinking. I was just glad my hat was cover my face.

"Dillon," Sam questioned.

"Who's Dillon," the boy replied.

Tommy started to do a motion as to tell us 'don't call him Dillon.'

"Okay, Tommy, if this isn't Dillon, who is it," Sam asked in a hushed tone.

"I'm right here, you could ask me," he said with a smirk. "At the moment, I am Andrew. Laying low."

"Why? What did you do," Sam pushed.

Dillon just looked at Sam as if telling her to stop, then he brought his attention to me.

"Who's the cute scarecrow?"

I looked up at him with disgust and he just looked shocked. I must've accidentally pushed my hat up a bit.

"Ah. Mumble," he said and I just stomped past him, giving his shoulder a nudge.

Dillon followed me to where ever I was going. He turned my to face him and tried speaking.

It was no use. I was deaf, the lights where we were at the moment hid his face, and I was still trying to avoid him since the Walmart incident.

I did a motion stating I couldn't hear him, nor could I see his face.

He got closer and attempted to speak again, but I just shook my head and shrugged to let him know I still didn't know what what he was saying.

He looked up to the kitchen and pulled me with him.

Once I could see him, he attempted to speak to me again. But this time it looked like he was attempting to sign what he was saying too. I was actually impressed that he even cared to try.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you the other day! It was wrong, it was dumb, and I was a monster. I'm sorry," he said before adding, "And the scarecrow costume is kind of cute actually."

It looked like he mumbled the last part looking very sour at the fact that he even allowed himself to say that.

I pulled my phone out and typed, "Doesn't seem like a genuine compliment."

"It is," he defended. "Do you wanna go somewhere," he asked. I raised my eyebrows in a wave of panic. "Not like that! Like, do you want to go to a pet store with me. Please?"
